With the 420? How bout the gst? Think I’m going for it instead. Kinda want awd but damn it’s hard to find a good one without breaking bank twice
For the GST you'll need link instead of MS II, and I'd still upgrade the internals to be safe. I bet they could handle 400 crank hp, but to the wheels you'll need an upgrade. But even with the crank hp they"ll get fried after some time
 
Evo 8 uses the 4g63 motor its just designed so the transmission sits the same as the 420a which makes it a easier swap, there are a lot of people in Europe doing EVO 8 swaps on 2g Eclipse's! It is well worth it and it is really not that much work, you will have more work swapping in a 4g63t from a gst or gsx since transmission is on passenger side it will cause loads of fabrication.

I believe only minor things are needed for the EVO 8 swap with little to no fabrication

I follow Miguels DSM. It is NOT an easy swap. Custom drive shaft, hard to find EVO ? front axles, cut and weld front sub frame for tcase clearance and fab rear engine mount. There's probable other stuff that I'm forgetting.

I believe he was referring to the 420a->4g63t swap not the 420a->awd and 4g63t
 
Don't do this swap unless you really reallllllly want to. You'd be better off buying a car that came with the 4g63t. It is way less time consuming, way easier, and maybe just maybe cheaper.

You have my support if you want to do the swap, but I just recommend that you don't. Good luck with whatever though! :thumb:

Half of that stuff is optional. Also not sure why you included brands, as any brand of the same part will work.
