Hi everyone ! Im Martin !
I have a KIA which has a 6-bolt 4G63 engine with 139 horsepowers (The naturally aspirated engine):dsm:
It has almost 105.000 miles on it !
Im looking for a useful tips and ways to modify the engine in reliable ways! :thumb:

P.S - I will upload photos of the car and and the engine soon :sneaky:

Welcome to the forums Martin! :)

The best way to show off your build is to make a DSM profile. Please make it as detailed as you can. Be sure to use the search function when you have any questions, and if you don't find your answer there then you can make a new thread.

As for your mods, there are a few guides on this site for simple horsepower gains. Just remember: maintenance before mods! You said you want it reliable, so that's the way to go. If you're on a budget, things like exhaust and intakes are your most promising mods right now. Eventually you can get into some internals and possibly boost along with ecu tuning if you find time and money. Just keep in mind that most n/a mods will be dumped the moment you decide to turbo (if so). So choose your upgrade path accordingly!

Good luck! :thumb:

There are only 2 Kia's that offered this engine the Kia Joice had the NA 4g63 from 2000-2004 and the Kia Optima from 2000-2005 had the 4th gen 4G.

I was thinking for a time about making a sleeper beige Hyundai Sonata with an evo 3 drivetrain :p

Welcome aboard! There are some build threads somewhere on the internets for you to get some ideas if you decide to go that way, otherwise we have good info for the engine itself here

Yeah
I have a 2002 Kia Joice
I will post photos of the car when i get on my pc !

Also i should respray the front and rear bumper...These scratches oh god...

Also,I would like to know in which sections of the forum i can find things like "Should i buy ECU when i put turbo" or "Do i need ECU even if i change only camschaft or manifold or intake"

4g63 bolt-on's or 4g63 engine management should be the ones you need to post in.

And to answer your question, you can upgrade the full intake and full exhaust without a new or tuned ecu.

The Kia engine sits backwards from the Dsm 4g63.

Hi Everyone, I'm Marvelous.

I just got a kia Joice and need to change the ecu but I was given the ecu of a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Dont know if it will work or cause any problems.

The connecting pins are all the same and I hope 8t works, it really took time to get this.

Can anyone with insight share.

Hey,I hope you succeeded changing the ecu of the Joice with an ecu of an Eclipse
