Anyone familiar with how much work is involved swapping a 420 to 4g63... custom fabrication difficulty etc? Thanks

I’m actually subscribed to him and was just watching one before I came to bed I started to not think it was a 4g63 tho with the timing belt on the 420a side thoThere is some information of swapping the evo VIII 4g63t into the 2ngt eclipse. Look up Miguel_DSM on youtube or Google, he has an Instagram too. He is currently in the process of converting his 1999 OZ rally special edition 2gnt eclipse from a 4g63t swap to an AWD swap.
appreciate it I’m actually looking for a gsx on the daily. Been getting a lot of bs post and listings but eventually. Have my eyes on a couple 4g63 engine also which brought up the idea. Thanks tho manThe evo VIII swap requires little fabrication, I believe it deals with cutting into the sub frame a little. I don't know the details, a little research will lead you in the right direction. There isnt any actual write ups of step by step "this is how its done" that I am aware of. It requires more fabrication and modification to swap a 2g gsx/gst into a 2gnt body, it is a lot more work but the evo VIII swap is more expensive since you need an evo VIII motor which is pricey. Most people will tell you to just buy a gsx or gst
Pretty close to a 7 bolt Dsm engine, but its flipped backwards is all, of course little things are different like main bearing caps and rod part numbers and the cylinder head is a newer design but otherwise its the same.So it’s the same exact engine but setup differently?
If you cant find a gsx you can always get a gst and do an awd swap, it is far less work than a 420->4g63t I believe.Yea def looking for a gst at the least... forgot all that crazy stuff I’m too impatient and it will be a daily driver soooo
That's true, but you could just wait until you find the GSX. I bet you can find one for the same price if not only slightly more expensive than a GST.If you cant find a gsx you can always get a gst and do an awd swap, it is far less work than a 420->4g63t I believe.
Same here.I def agree, thanks everyone for the insight and suggestions. Thus is why I enjoy this website. They are hard to find around me in ky that’s for sure
You'll need to weld up new motor mounts.I believe only minor things are needed for the EVO 8 swap with little to no fabrication
