Ha ha as it says I finally harnessed that wild bucking cold start rpm! I finally pulled my TB off popped out the plug and screwed in the valve tight to disable it forever. Now I have a smooth 1500rpm cold start idle no wild rpm jumps and smooth 800ish rpm idle hot. Perfect I dont know why that cold start valve was ever used in the first place dam that was annoying.

Your title made me laugh, definitely needed that this morning. Glad your 1g is running smoothly!
Me too it was sooo embarrassing being that guy with the wild up and down rpms any time I started the car it would idle smooth and steady rpm but touch the throttle once while it was cold and the rpms started bucking 500 ish up and down.

Anyone know where I can send my 90 throttlebody to be completely rebuilt including new ISC? I'm getting the classic idle surge and would like to see about just getting the whole thing rebuilt.

You can rebuild it with simple hand tools. And impact screw driver WITH THE CORRECT PHILLIPS will help removing the fiav cover.

You mean an impact driver? Or is there a tool I've yet to hear about? LOL

Honestly set your tps to .630mv adjust the biss screw correctly with the timing connector shorted and the isc grounded on the plug under the dash. Then pull the tb off pop out the frost plug and screw it all the way in till it bottoms out. Put some sealant on the plug and tap it back in. I bet 100% your idle will smooth out and be consistent long as u do a boost leak test and it passes. I'm still leaking a small amount past the throttle shaft but my car is 1000% more enjoyable now
