Hey guys, im completely new to these platforms, coming from n54’s and never ending misfires

last night i got a 97 gsx, one of the things i was told is the bold head broke off on the manifold, and stuck on the turbo, i found a local hx35 and was wondering what manifold would it fit, i was told it has the stock t25 manifold not sure if thats a thing, any info would be appreciated

What manifold could hold around 4-500whp and fit a holset hx35 turbo thanks! Any info is appreciated!

A tubular header or maybe an FP Race Exhaust manifold with a BullsEye Power housing for the HX35 to fit in. Would bolt up to the factory exhaust pipe also. IDK if it will make 500 but it will get to 400hp for you.

This one is sold and I am getting ready to take it down, but I will leave it up today, so you can look at it and see what I am talking about for the FP manifold.......

I was told a fp manifold wouldnt clear, i currently have tubular manifold right now but was told its a t25 and holset is t3, is cxracing a good brand for manifolds? Or doesnt hold much power? Ill look into the one you recommended

HX35 is t3 flange. The stock t25 manifold won't bolt up to an hx35, however they do sell adapter plates (never seen one in-person but I get way too many ads for it on Kijiji). I have read that these plates push the turbo too far down and hit the block but I've never seen one. I don't have any personal experience with them, but I've seen some Youtube videos of people having issues with cxracing stuff (non-DSM though) (particularly fitment).

I didn’t put the fmic kit on my car but I’m 90% sure it’s the vrsf kit. No complaints. Just needed some trimming, and delete the crash bar. This thing is huge. Not sure what hp it’s good for but I’ve been pushing 22lbs through it for a while. You will likely have to mix/match some random pipes and couplers to get the j-pipe from the hx35 to the kit.

The CXRacing manifold failed on my car after 1000 miles. It was over 10 years ago, but the wastegate provision broke clean off the collector. I was dragging a Tial 35mm by its vac line...

I would personally stay away from them, but after welding it back up and adding some supports, it worked fine... I soon switched to the cast t3 turbonetics/treadstone manifold and haven't changed it since. I know that standard 4 bolt variety of t3/t4 turbine housings have clearance issues with the block when using this manifold. I had to run a 5 bolt T3/T4 50 trim to get it out away from the block (6 bolt swapped 2g).

If you go that route, plan on some issues, and eventually some rework. I know there are vendors that sell manifolds designed for the HX35s but they wont be cheap. What is your budget?

I wonder how much hp it could hold, im looking to get around the 4-500whp range

No J-pipe on a holset. To use it you can buy the BEP housing and it is DSM flanged. You MAY have to dent your water tube for the turbo housing to clear but IT WILL BOLT UP, you just have to have the correct parts to do it. I have them all at home, in stock. But I own multiple DSM's too.
The VRSF is the intercooler I run on all of mine. They fit well and I have never had to use a different part or cut a tube with them either. Just my 02¢

Im trying to go as cheap as possible, but i wouldnt mind spending 4-500$ for the manifold, idk of thats alot or a little for these

are you talking about this one? Just want to make sure i get the right things before i try putting it together, is there a turbo manifold you could recommend thats t3 to
Fit the hx35?

how much psi/whp are you pushing with the intercooler?

Yes that is it. It will also bolt up to a stock manifold or a race FP manifold or ANY DSM flanged exhaust. T3 is a general universal fit, and I run T3 with my Holset but it can be ran in the DSM configuration with the exhaust housing you have in the picture from ExtremePSI.
I run 44 lbs of boost on a HX40 thru a VRSF intercooler and it holds up fine. It could cool more but for the price I am quite happy or I wouldn't have 3 of them.

How hard is it to switch out the housing? Also so you prefer the fp manifold ported? Or is there a specific hp to desire to actually need it?

Also forgot to mention, since the hx35 is integrated wastegate whatd you do? Do you still run an external one?

Do you have ECMLink, a big fuel pump and big injectors? If not, you'll need those first.
I dont yet, i want to get the manifold/turbo first because the one thats on there now has a cracked bolt, heads broken off, threads are in the turbo, so i just wanted to get rid of the leak first, guy threw in 850cc injectors, but i want like 1200cc ones or whatever ones can handle 4-500whp, also whatbdo you recommend for the fuel pump?

I run mine as is. Makes plenty of ponies.
You will need some kind of engine management to handle the bigger injectors that were "thown in". That's almost DOUBLE what it is managing on the stock ECU.

I'd try source a local 2g OEM manifold or just grab a FP manifold. The OEM 2G can be had for less than $60 and the FP can be had for less than $300, much less if you can find a used one.
Grabbed my extra FP up for $50 buks! Used of course so always look for cracks. Keep watching the classifieds on here.

I got a buddy thats selling me “thats turbo, manifold, bep housing, wastegate and o2 housing with dump tube” for $800, i think its a good deal, kinda trying to throw everything at once on it, gonna order a vrsf intercooler if theres a good black friday deal ill hold off, bigger injectors and probably a fuelpump as well, gonna look into ecmlink as well

For what its worth, I just installed a hx35 on my car. I did have to dent the water pipe and I was using a t3/t4 tubular manifold. If you are using a 2g radiator, you might have issues with your upper radiator hose. A tubular manifold might hit it or be extremely hot. I have swapped to a 1g radiator which requires some moving the lower mounts. You will likely have to change your cooling fans due to clearance as well. You will also have to figure out your water line situation as holsets do not use water. In the pics, you can see the clearance I am talking about.

As already mentioned above, you need dsmlink or your kind of wasting time and causing more issues than you already have. You can get what you want but I would wait to put any parts on until dsmlink is installed. When I had a 20g, I was at 44lb/min and 80IDC with 950cc injectors. Im sure you know but you will need a bigger pump and afpr. I had a wally 255 then upgraded to a wally 525.

With a stock holset housing, you will need to change your o2 and down pipe as it uses a different flange. For simplicity in your case, I would highly recommend a FP race manifold. They normally go on sale during the holidays.

FWIW, I would reccomend going with a mhi turbo as it is more bolt on and simple for newer users. When you get into the numbers your talking, you need to worry about your clutch setup. Mine started slipping with my small 16g at 22psi.
