Hello, I am attempting to recover the front bucket seats of what I believe is a 1993 Eagle Talon -customer brought me the seats, so I don't have the actual car in front of me. These two front buckets have integrated head rests. Does anyone know how to get them off? I have torn the drivers seat down, removed the 'button' from the side of the headrest, this didn't work so I reinstalled it. I have tried moving aside the metal 'pin' you can see if you lift the headrest into its uppermost position, that does not work. I can see the two white plastic 'clip' type 'cuffs' at the bottom of the offset posts that the headrests are connected to, down inside the seat after taking the upholstery off and moving the foam aside, I do not know if these cuffs are the key or not, and I do NOT want to break one trying to force them off the post. Does anyone have any insight here? I really need these things off so I can start cutting leather to do the job. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Take a dead blow and knock them up toward the sky and they will come right off.

But will they go back on then?? I was afraid to force them off. Have you done this?
Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

I see this is an older post. I was wondering if this worked..
