Ok, I'm am completely beside myself with this thing. Things I have done so far: checked compression, checked spark, set fuel pressure, ensured injectors are firing, verified base timing, reinstalled cas (both a know working, and my original), replaced coil, checked the ECU for blown grounds, replaced coolant temp sensor. I'm running out of ideas... Which leads me to where I am now. My coolant temp is reading high, like 96 and my GMAIT is reading 56. I replaced the sensor for the second time and actually ran wire directly to the ECU. It made no difference. Still the same. So, I unplugged it. The reading dropped about 10 degrees. Confused (I thought when you unplugged the CTS it would read -74 or something. So I unplugged the sending unit (the one pronged one that goes to the gauge I thought) and it read -74... I am very confused right now... I feel like I have done a lot of reading and nothing is making this thing work. Any ideas on what I should try next?

Was it running before and you just switched to speed density? I run all of my DSM's on SD and have surprisingly good results and luck. What is the issue at hand? Just won't start? Throw up a log so I can look at it.

I looked at your profile and should be able to help out. I have 1990s also. Similar setups so if possible, log the problem and post it.

Are you using a 2g Maf harness for your 1g on SD???
Should have a 1g adaptor harness from ECMLink or OhmRacing. It will have EVERY plug for the IAT, MAP and Flex Fuel sensor if you want. That MAY be the whole problem.

I don't know the difference in the harnesses but can tell you what I use.

The previous person switched the car to a 2g maf. I ordered the 2g maf to SD cable for my set up setup. Is this wrong? I thought I asked that before and was told it was ok...

It's the stupid computer!!!! My dad told me to try my old noneprom computer and it started right up! I never tried it because I was worried about the fueling and switching to speed density. But, it started up better than the ECU with link! Need to send the computer off to get fixed now.

Ok, this is getting weird. Unbeknownst to me my 1990 was running a 1991 + computer . Got that switch. Still the same issue...

That is a simple pin swap.

The boys at ECMTuning will fix ya up! :thumb:

I have a goofy boost guage signal on my 90 Link V3 ecu and may have to send mine in also.
