Finally got the o2 housing today.

Fought with the dipstick tube and I barely won. That thing is a pia to fit around. The stock drain is too short by an inch. Thought this was a direct swap.

Grab some reinforced hydraulic hose and cut that stupid "flex" out of your drain and put the hose on with worm clamps. It doesn't see pressure, just flowing oil draining to the pan. You will be glad since you will never have to mess with that bottom drain fitting again. :thumb:
I used a tubing bender, on the dipstick to reform it to fit, myself. Yours looks good now though.
It's up to you Tony, but we started doing that a few years ago to make things easier going together and god forbid, anytime you have to do any turbo maintenance.
Hell, now we cut the whole tube apart and just use the end pieces for the turbo and the oil pan. :)

I though about just cutting it off and using a piece of hose but like all the other originals, it doesn't have a smooth surface. So I just ordered -10an from extremepsi. It'll look nicer too :sneaky:.

Man a tube bender would've been nice. I'm pretty patient when wrenching but I literally had the entire turbo & manifold in and out about 15 times trying to get that dipstick tube positioned and it really tested me. Actually yelled F&%$ once or twice. haha

Well I can say that I have had my spell of spewing language all over the shop when things are not going my way, that's for sure hahaha.
That drain will work just fine!!!

I replaced all the brake lines and fuel lines all were rotted out, I miss my panda but love my blue, looks good.

i know that struggle well LOL just replaced the lines from the proportioning valve all the way to the wheel wells

Dang. That’s a lot of brake line. It’s those stupid brackets they used imo

I replaced a small section off the fuel line from the rubber part off the outlet too

I didnt want to take a chance of the rest failing so i upgraded to a 8 an fuel setup,

That’s the way to go. You’ll never have to worry about it again. Hopefully I won’t have to touch another line or make a double flare for another 25 years LOL, but I’m sure the return will need attention somewhere down the line.

oh yea LOL its was almost a 25ft roll of nicopp to run them both. but i ran them a little different than factory when i did them. at least now i know i wont have to worry about the back lines breaking again for a good while.

I’ve always used the normal coated hard line and this was my first time using the nicopp line. It was SOOOO much easier. Nicopp for life. Lol
