I noticed the fuel filler neck is rusted, but it's not leaking...yet. Do you have to drop the tank to replace the filler neck? From a quick search, sounds like there's a rubber hose that needs to be replaced as well.

You don't have to drop the tank on a 2g. Have you looked at it yet to see how much room you have?

I bet dropping the tank would make it easier but if you don't have to...

Not really. Didn’t want to go down the rabbit hole yet. Lol

I was able to replace the rubber hose part on mine without dropping the tank.

How bad is the rust? You could probably grind it away and soak the neck in undercoating, or powder coat it and be fine.

I say this because filler necks can be close to $200. So why not try and fix it?

It’s pretty rusty. Guess if I have to I can put it on the wire wheel or worst case electrolysis the sob.

Does the rubber hose connect the hard pipe to tank?

Man, I can't remember. Mine was leaking so I went and bought a radiator hose and cut it to fit. I would bet that is what is leaking on yours too. I'll have to take another look Tony.

Oooo. Rust, enemy #1.......

You can also use Napa Part #: NBH 1038 if you don't want to wait on ebay shipping, and go pick it up at your local Napa, and just cut it to size as well.

This is the same part number I used to replace my rubber elbow, you'll find that part number referenced on some threads on here as well.

I replaced my hard fuel filler neck for the same rusty reasons, and eventually had to replace the rubber neck as well due to stress cracks.

Thanks for the input! Did you buy the neck new or used? If new, where please?
