Hi guys, what's good?

When I start driving my eclipse 2g turbo
I get this weird rattle sound at around 3k rpm
and if I go to 4k and above the sound goes away!
Another thing that I noticed is that it usually happens when the engine is still not warmed up (at the beginning of a drive)
Any ideas what might be causing the sound?

Do you have a video? Any idea what general area the rattle sounds might be coming from?

Your initial post is a bit generic, it's difficult to help; however, my first guess would be something in/around your exhaust. That guess isn't based on much though, we need more info.

Sorry, I feel like it's from the engine bay
I won't be driving the car for the next week so no video

I don't think it's the exhaust as the sound is tightly related to the rpm and how warm the engine is
Usually after 2 minutes of driving the sound completely disappears but I feel like it might turn into a bigger problem if I don't figure out what's going on

I still think we need more info! It could be a lot of things. If you're not driving the car it's okay we can wait ROFL. Just bump the thread with a video when you do.

Can you simulate the rattling when the car isn't moving by revving the car in neutral?

I've seen exhaust rattling that happens at certain rpms. Weird stuff happens sometimes.

Hmm that's actually a very good question
To be honest I can only hear the sound when the car is in motion

Imagine the car vibrating at 3k rpm and then when you exceed that it stops. I am not even sure that I can capture it on video

It's usually for 2-3 mins after I start driving but one time it got really bad and I was barely able to drive my car. Not sure if it's leaning out but the car was popping like crazy and I wasn't able to give it gas

The car is also somewhat modified at 18 psi

Ah ok, now we're on the right track. I think this sounds like a vacuum/boost leak.

Video would really help or this will become a guessing game
For me a boost leak makes sense
I feel like there is a problem with the air fuel mixture
Next week I will upload a video but for now I have the transmission out so no way to drive it
