very unfortunate that this has happened to you. I am just now hearing about this software and would have loved to have a copy. I hope you have a change of heart in the future as i would love to see this issue resolved.

I'm pasting this from FB, these are some words I had to express worth a group I'm in. "P.s. I just read his thread for why this has happened, it really is a damn shame. I for one have in fact used his program hundreds of times to tune my car as well. But let me be clear that I have never been paid in doing so, this is a hobby for me and I help my friends with their cars all the time with no expected compensation whatsoever. I for one am sorry that I didn't take the time donate toward his hard efforts and amazing program, and I'm going to contact him and send something his way." I have benefitted greatly from your program and want to send something your way as a thank you.

Joey Santiago

I actually have ecmlink as of now great software, but I still like other tuning software options myself, it's so sad how dishonest some people can be sometimes... I would gladly pay you $2.00 for any software updates... heck I'd even send you $20.00 bucks if I knew you spent the time and dedication to working out bugs and updating the program, and helping out the dsm community thank you for your work Craig.

And If you ever have any interest in selling this product of yours again let me know, I would be more then interested in a legit copy from the man who made it himself :thumb:.

sucks that they would do such a thing! it helps me learn the system more for when i am putting ecmlink back in the car and is great tool to have. the old version i still have but i guess that will do for now! im no expert and most likely never will be but people who use it to make money YOU GUYS SUCK and ruined it for everyone else!

let us know how to get it when you figure out what to do with it.

Are you the same calum that does the catch can? If so why not included the program with the purchase of the catch can?

Trying to install office right now, so that I can finally try to use this software.

Just wanted to say thanks for all you have done.

I would have done the same thing had someone actually had the balls to ask ME to update MY program so they could more easily make money off it!???!
Yea, i mean if you were one of those guys you should have just been happy with what craig had provided and not be a greedy dick. Rubbing it in like that.... ughhhh. I hope i grabbed a copy of this, might have it somewhere.(yup, just found version 5.2 DONT PM ME). And no, im a clinical engineer with no local dsm friends so i wouldnt use it to make money LOL. I guess some folks need the money but maybe they should have thanked you with a small donation? Doesnt sound unrealistic to me.

The community thanks you and I thank you. When i eventually have a running car again i'm switching to SD so this should come in handy.

This software is insane. I'm sorry but easily worth $50 and then maybe $20+ for each update.

Just opened it for the first time. Whoa, Craig! Man oh man this thing is chock full of useful tools. I was just messing with the injector and e85% and its just so damn easy and does the work for you.
Hope i have a running car by the end of the year and go SD, cant wait to learn and use this

I just played with it and watched the first 4 or 5 videos.
I can't wait to actually use it.

Since everyone is asking, I'll try to explain this just once, as honestly and tactfully I s I can.

Recently I've had people with the nerve to contact me and ask for updates so "they can more easily tune peoples cars with it". So called "expert tuners" are using my software to calibrate people's SD table in 3 minutes and pocketing $100 or more, and yet they don't have the decency to send $2 my way to say thanks. Sorry, but I'm done playing that game.

To those of you that will post copies of it for download (and probably try to sell it)....just remember that it is still intellectual property that I own, and it's a tight community; distribute it at your own risk. ;) (And for the honest person that lets me know of someone who is distributing it without permission, you won't be forgotten.)

I hope nobody takes this personally...it's just something I've decided that needs to be done. Until I figure out what I'm going to do with LinkTools publicly (if anything), the newest version and all future updates will be privately confined to a very small group of people. That plan may very well change, but for now it is what it is.
I agree you spend so much time on making your software not to mention you are kind enough to let us use it then some ass*#@× has to screw it up. if I see anyone selling your software I will let you know calan.

Always one turd in the punchbowl to ruin the whole thing! I've not used your software, but thanks for all the time and hard work put into it, bettering a dsm tunner's life! Thank you!

Wow sucks to hear about this.such a great tool to use.never really used it much.just maybe for the Hp chart feature and just to put in my maps in 3D to see if any areas could use some smoothing. And to the people calling themselves expert tuners by using this to tune other peoples car and dont give calan any kind of credit dont deserve to have this tool.n plus if u need to use this tool for it to do all your tuning u shouldnt be tuning at all is what i think.also willing to pay to keep this program updated if u decide to. :)

It's unfortunate that there are scumbags out there... Smh. Although I haven't downloaded or used link tools, I've only read amazing things about it. I have yet to have my car running on my dsm link yet, and would love to give this program a go. If by chance you ever decide to make it available again, I would totally pay for it! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the forum Calan!!!

Calan I too am a computer programmer from college and wrote macro programming in excel (well back then it was Lotus 1-2-3) and if you ever want to sell a copy, please keep me in mind as it has a lot of hard work in it that I would gladly pay for. When I was in a Lotus 1-2-3 college class, I never looked at my professor and at the end of the year after aceing his class he came to me and asked me why I always had my back to him but still was able to pull A+'s in his class (in 1985). I told him I was writing macros in Lotus and he said "Would you teach me how". Wow, you have amazing skills my man and if by chance I would be lucky enough to be in a small community of people that were lucky enough to BUY this please let me know. You are awesome!!! Good job my freind and I completely understand you as when I was in programming classes in college, I would have 3 or 4 classmates that would want to "see" my program, then copy it and turn it in for a great grade. I ended up going up against one in a job interview, and guess what.....They hired her (one of the copycats). My Professor always knew they were my programs and told me some day, they cheaters would figure out that they learned nothing. Keep up the good work and me in mind for a test subject for my 1990 Talon with V-3 Link. Sincerely, Marty Wilson Class of 1982,84 and 86. :hellyeah:

You can not currently purchase this product. It is no longer open for the general publics use. Please read post #100.

Please read the 1st post from the OP. Due to some circumstances, this product has been removed from the public and is not openly available for download.

If someone does have a file, they do not have the rights to share it unless it comes from the original poster of this thread.

Just spend the time and learn what you need to do, it really is so simple. Might not seem it at first but it is. Totally worth the effort to be in absolute control, and to never need anyone else.

Maybe I dont understand what this program did exactly, but wouldn't it slow the learning process down, and possibly prevent someone from ever fully understanding how its done? I mean, if it does it for you, how are you supposed to get any experience? Nothing worth having ever comes easy.

In my opinion, yes, it could slow down the learning process and/or prevent someone from fully understanding. But even if you know exactly what you're doing and fully understand, it helps speed up what would otherwise be a very tedious process (at least the way I use it).
