so to try to keep things simple i took my car apart to fix a few issues/ maintenance stuff. i took the intake for some more room to fix some brake lines that broke and also sent injectors out to be cleaned. the car ran fine before taking it apart. so i got the car back together and take it for its first test drive. first it didnt start like it used to (car would fire right up no matter the weather, now it takes a minute) start to make a pull in the car and it just feels like its hitting a wall in rpm and wont build boost and can kinda hear it sputtering/ breaking up. afrs seem fine (not too rich or too lean that i remember). some info on the car that might pretain to the issue.

auto car. did seem to do ok stalling up and getting on converter before drive (4200rpm 2 step)
intake has phenolic gasket on (its probably 6-7 years old)
car is on sd and e85.
plugs are kinda old (2 years i think)plan on changing those next.
injectors are fid 2000s that were just cleaned by mike at buchur racing.

i havent taken a log yet of it to see if that shows anything. it was kinda late when i drove it. im open to any suggestions or things to check to try and fix this issue.

A log would definitely be good. If you haven't already double check and make sure that you plugged back in all the sensors that you might have unplugged. I'd be checking couplers as well. Make sure you didn't forget to tighten one. I have made that mistake plenty of times. How's the fuel pressure looking?

yea ill be geeting a log this weekend. only sensors unplugged were tps, and isc. only coupler was at the tb and i know its tight. plan for the weekend is to swap plugs and do a boost leak and see where im at. fuel pressure at idle is where it needs to be. like i said when its doing it i glanced at the afr and it seemed to be ok. ill definelty double check.

Well I pulled the plugs this morning before work...

I don’t think these helped any. Didn’t have a chance to drive it to see if it helped or not though.

Looked pretty rich there. Wideband calibrated lately?

i just done when i put the dash back ini can honestly say i went too long (3 years maybe?). last time i had the plugs out they still looked decent but thats been a minute (i know bad josh bad josh LOL). car has sat a while which i know doesnt help things either..

I know I am due for a fresh air re-calibration is why I mentioned it, since it feeds the ECU that information for fueling. :thumb:

Have any idea's why the plugs look as dark as they do, other than old with hard use on them?

not really. i mean it is tuned a little rich in the lower rpm range to help with getting on the converter. im gonna do a boost leak test and actually datalog it this weekend. i havent had much time this week to do much since i found the issue.

Got ya! Well it is better to have a set of plugs that are on the dark side as opposed to one of my sets that had the ground strap melted off......OMG

actually one of the last times i pulled these plugs they werent rich at all. they looked pretty damn good but since then its had gas ran through it now that i think of it so that could be part of the blackness

Gas on a E85 tune, yes I can see that happening. I hope that is all that it is and she comes roaring back to life!!!

oh itll get figured out for sure LOL just got me stumped and flustered. only other thing im curious would be if the map sensor finally took a crap and causing this. i guess ill find out more this weekend

If a bad TPS/throttle position sensor; if you accelerate really gradually it works alright, but if you floor it the car is really slow. THat's what mine did. With a bad IPS, usually it effects the idle too.
