It's coming up quick - let's use this thread to discuss and share info about the event, and celebrate the achievements of those DSM and 4G63 friends/family that will be competing! Here's a list I found of a few of the big names in our community that are registered for WCF 2019:

Boostin Performance - 2G DSM - @Boostin Performance
Jake Montgomery - 1G DSM - @evil_eagle
Aaron Gregory - 1G DSM - @Slow95gsx
Mike Wohler - 2G DSM - @gastroker
Fernando Martinez - 1G DSM - @OstarMotorsport
Adriana Noonen - 1G DSM
Tom Noonen - 1G DSM - @90tsiawd
Garrett Chastain - 4G63-powered 3000GT - @Meat Missile

Who else will be competing? Let's make a list so we can get MaryBeth (@95talongirl) to get some photos, since she'll be covering the event!

Extra cheers for the kakperformance powered 3000gt of Garrett Chastain. Car already made a good pass this morning in testing.
I sent Garrett a note, letting him know he was tagged here. Hoping he'll jump in here and start participating. :)

Would really love to see more people sharing photos and videos from the event here in this thread. I've been trying to post stuff but was really busy over the weekend. Even if you weren't there but have been watching social media updates, please share/embed them here so we can document/archive all those updates in one place. They're scattered everywhere on FB.

Cool, I wish these weren't being posted to facebook though..... can't see any of those videos. :/
Yeah, same here. It's really unfortunate some of the faster DSMers who compete at WCF and the Shootout don't have any interest in being part of the existing DSM community here. A lot of people who go really fast these days do all of their posting on FB, as that's what their sponsors want to see, it's all about marketing. It doesn't matter that there has been a dedicated DSM community here for nearly two decades that would love to interact with them and follow everything they're doing here - their build, their racing efforts, etc. All of that stuff would make the DSM community that much stronger overall. Social media has fragmented all auto enthusiast communities, not just ours.

In some cases, these people just get burned out from all the same basic questions newbies ask them in communities like this. I've noticed that most of them don't spend much time in FB groups either, for the same reason. They'd rather just post about what they're doing on their FB wall and not get bombarded with questions about what turbo they're running or what oil weight they like - 1,000 times. I get that, but it still sucks, because those people have a great deal to contribute, they could make a massive impact in keeping our community at its strongest by teaching noobs and/or even just documenting their journey so that it's chronicled for people to see for years to come, inspiring other great builds, educating more people in how to do a build right, how to use this resource to get it done - instead, everything they post will get buried deep in the FB abyss, which won't help anybody in the future. I've said it over and over, but nobody seems to care.

Oh well, if they don't want to part of the community, I'll do what I can to share their efforts here to be documented for the rest of us to see and appreciate. At least others that join the community later will be able to see some of this stuff without having to use FB, especially for those of us who can't stand FB. I'll keep trying (even if it's futile) to keep as many DSMers together in one central place.

I understand to the fullest extent. I started here on this forum damn near reading till my eyes bleed. Tuning, building, the tech articles you name it. This platform(And forum) has helped me become the mechanic/Tuner that i am today. To the point, I am the recommended guy for tuning DSM's in the Charlotte, NC area. This is the first thing i recommend to people when they want to know something. I had a guy call me to ask about certain bolt sizes. I turned him to the page but, because he could'nt find it instantly he became frustrated and asked me again. When i told him the sizes he commented "This is why i asked you bro, you know everything about these cars." Failing to see, I started here. A "NOOB."
