Hey guys! I'm Jeroen, 29 years old, from the Netherlands and the very proud owner of a '92 1g DSM. My love for these cars goes way back to the very early 2000's. I was huge into drag racing at a young age, but the drag racing scene in the Netherlands over here in Europe is pretty much non-existent, so to get my fix I had to scour the internet to find crappy 240p videos on the most random of sites (this was way back when there was no youtube, live streams, and the internet overall was very slow and much more inconvenient).

I knew back then that muscle cars with big v8's were the way to go for drag racing, until I saw some small little 4 cylinder car launching real hard and stomping a v8 on some random back-road (I wish I still knew what video it was, but those memories are very jaded now). Naturally this sparked my interest, and I learned that these cars were known as DSM's. After I started looking around more and more and eventually stumbled upon a video of IMV Films talking about John Shepherd's Eagle Talon, and I never knew that small little 4 cylinders could pack such a punch. Their underdog image was also something that I was attracted to, and the more I learned about these cars the more I loved them.

Ofcourse back then I was only 11, so there was no way I could own one myself. Then the Fast & Furious came out, and I had some other interests over the years (supra, skyline, etc), but somehow I always had that DSM in the back of my head. I dont know, it's kind of an x-factor...something you can't quite put your finger on but it's what separates it from any other car you see.

Then, after about 17 more years, I finally got myself into a position where I had a well-paying job and money left to have something besides my daily. And well, one thing lead to another and here I am with my own 1g imported from Germany. It's only a 2.0 non-turbo, I would have love to have a GSX but they're very expensive here in Europe and also super rare, but i love it very much and I do plan to put a 4g63t engine in that, though I'm new to working on cars so I'm taking one step at a time :D

I have to say that it feels really cool now being part of the DSM boys, as I still remember me being only a little kid dreaming of having a DSM myself one day. I try to look after my DSM as best I can with regular maintenance, not cheaping out on parts and keeping the paint in tip-top condition. They're getting more rare these days (I think there's like less than 10 1g's in the entirety of the Netherlands) so I wanna make sure mine will always stay on the road.

Well that's it for now, sorry about the long introduction and hello to everyone here! :thumb:

Welcome aboard! I started with a n/t 2.0L Plymouth Laser. I loved that car and raced it at local autocross and rallycross events. Also learned a lot about DSMs working on it and repairing it.
