I think I'm going to do the Saturn alternator swap and have a few questions.

1. Is there any downside to going with the self exciting regulator from Motor City other than spending an extra $26?

2. I don't care about making more power, but I want it to fit with the least amount of fuss. Will a smaller pulley make it harder or easier to tension the alternator?

3. There was talk of a guy who was going to make tensioner brackets to make the installation better. Did those every become available?

4. Any watch outs anybody would like to share would be great. This is for a 2G with everything stock in the alternator area.

I'm doing the same swap, alternator arrives tomorrow. TurboGlenn is the one who makes the cnc bracket for the saturn alt swap. I'm still waiting for him to log back on so I can get one from him.

Also in the swap archive, it says to use a longer bolt since the saturn is threaded differently but no write up ever says what size bolt to use. That has been driving me nuts when looking up information.
