I didn’t know where to post this but didn’t know if anyone here could help me. I’m officially stuck and don’t know where to continue I have a brand new build and brand new motor and the car is a 98 gsx rhat I made a base tune with using ecuflash and using sd following ceddys base tune guide. I have the injector scaling in and latency where fic recommends them and the car will only sputter and wxanr keep it running for more than 5 seconds. Don’t know if it’s a tuning problem or if the charging system could have something to do with it. I’m stuck if anyone has tips or advice I’d really appreciate it

I had a similar issue where my 98 GSX was running flawlessly until the timing belt broke. I rebuilt the engine and started from scratch on the tune only to find that it wouldn't run. AFRs were all over the place and it would die after a few seconds unless I played with the throttle. The act of installing the new engine was apparently enough to break the strands in the wiring harness and my injectors were only firing intermittently. I replaced the injector wiring and updated the connectors to USCAR to match my injectors and it has been flawless since. Well, until the transmission blew a month later...

I'm not saying that you have a fuel system issue necessarily, but don't discount the basic things. Ignore the new software for now and make sure that everything else on the car is good first. I've done quite a few from-scratch tunes using ECUFlash and every single time there was a problem it was with the car, not with the tune.

EDIT: I just reread and saw that you're on speed density. I have no personal experience there so I can't help. Ideally I'd put the MAF back in place for now and debug on the standard base tune to get everything in a known good state before jumping back to SD but I don't know if that's an option for you.

Hey man thanks for the incite and info. The car is on sd right now and I still have the stock map sensor but I don’t have the stock maf anymore. I’ve heard some people say to go back to maf for the initial starting and getting everything situated so I have a feeling I’m gonna have to order a stock maf... when you found the issue with the injectors did you log it or find it on your own? Tried to download evoscan but once again it gave me issues so I can’t log at the moment

Evoscan won’t download on my laptop in order to take a log... keeps coming up .net framework issue but followed the things to fix it and downloaded the newest framework and still no dice

I have quite some experience with ECUFlash but without a log, it's kinda hard or at least being able to see the tune itself to see if you may have missed anything, or if something is out of whack. Very easy to overlook something when you're starting out.

The only thing I changed from the stock tune on ceddy was the injector cc and the latency which was set to 750cc and if I remember correctly change the chart by .325? Also followed ceddys base sd intructions for the 4 bar map
