Hello,
I am currently attempting to swap a 3/4 faceplated gear setup from an early 90 input shaft to an 91-99 input shaft, and had a question about the 4th speed gear bearing sleeve. The difference that I see is related to the oil feed on the input shaft. The newer input shaft has the oil feed towards the hub, and the older input shaft has the oil feed in the middle of the spacer, where the groove is machined into the sleeve. I am curious as to the difference in the early bearing sleeve and the later bearing sleeve, and if I need to acquire a later 4th gear bearing sleeve. I have attached pictures to make things more clear.
Thank you,
Tim P.

You will be fine. I have used both versions with and without the grooved 4th bearing sleeve and it worked out ok. When you install the liberty 3/4 hub you should have oil clearance lining up.

As a note of advice, you will require a bit of grinding to clearance the 3/4 fork from the face plated gears. It is best to grind down the OD of the face plates on the 3rd gear so it is flush with the OD of the slider. 4th may take a tiny bit of grinding and you may need to do some fork grinding as well depending on which fork you are using; OEM aluminum, Evo 3 steel or Magnus fork.

Also, you will need to extend the shift range of the 1/2/3/4 detents on the shift rails to get full engagement of the gears, and you may need to slightly notch the shift selector cage to increase range of 2nd/4th.

I attached pics of the rail ends and selector cage. I have more on my PC showing the 3rd/4th clearance modifications
