Anyone test or replace knock sensor on 1g with china made or replacement?
Genuine 1g knock sensor as we know is discontinued!!!

I think this is our major problem
1g & 2g with stock ecu

Here is one hell of a story..........
I had one but wasn't going to risk my NEW motor on an unknown part that is vital. It looked like a 2g sensor but was sold on Ebay as an MD141510 1g sensor. I fought with the supplier about what it was and finally got a refund and gave the sensor to my son with a 2g since it looked like a 2g sensor. The vendor swore it was a exact replacement and asked me to try it but when I asked if they would warranty my new engine if it was not the correct part, they wanted me to ship it back to them in China. I refused, since there is no way to track a package to its destination in China AND the part came from a distribution warehouse in NY. I offered to send it back to the warehouse AT MY EXPENSE, but they were dicks and said I had to return it to them in China. I then asked for a return label for tracking purposes and they refused to send it. Ebay told me that they had to provide the label by a certain day or I could keep the product and they would refund me, which is what happened. THEN.....like 2 weeks later, I get a email from the vendor asking me to send it to one of their warehouses IN THE USA. I totally dissed them since I had offered twice to send it back to the address from which it came. I could get that sensor back but I don't know how to test it other than putting it on and seeing if it registered any knock. That was my experience and this is the ad.....

You end up getting one that looks like this, in a plastic ziplock bag with a yellow sticky note asking for 5 star feedback, but no identifying numbers on the sensor itself.......

This LOOKS like a 1g sensor and I would TRY one as long as it looked the same, but mine didn't.

But note the "specifics" in that ad. It says "unbranded/generic"........:notgood:

Such is the case with most Chinese parts Marty. At least you got your money back. Maybe if this happens a few hundred thousand times, they'll stop trying to copy parts en masse.
I wouldn't trust a cheapo knock sensor on a build like yours!

I bought this in January of 2018 and it has been working fine. BUT, I do not drive my car much. I'm running link and I can see it works fine.

Manufactured and located in WI, U S of A, FTW :D:thumb:

I trust that sensor Tony. I bought all I could find on RockAuto and Amazon so I had sensors for the future, both 1g and 2g.

I try and stay away from eBay unless they’re oem items. Bought an oem valve cover gasket for $15 IIRC which was a steal but took a while to get since it was shipped from UAE. Learned a long time ago that “most” of their stuff is junk.

Me too but when the supply got exhausted, I was "willing" to give one a shot.....ONE. Honestly, if it had just looked the same, I would have tried it since all other vendors are out.

I know what you mean. I did the same with partsgeek. Forgot what I bought but it was completely wrong. Then gave them another shot for something else and again something completely different. It wasn’t even remotely close to what I purchased. Lol

If the world runs out of dsm knock sensor, I'll know where to go. haha

This is also why I'm looking at an aftermarket knock detection system. The stock sensors are getting hard to find, and in my case, I just can't get them to read correctly it seems.

I was in contact with Glenn (turboglenn) about the system he used, and if I don't go to another ems with it's own knock system, then I'll probably try the one he's got from J&S.

Same issues here for ordering parts and not getting the correct one, it's pretty miss and hit.

I just replace mine from surplus shop..with single wire only..but it work..i just cut the wire and get the older socket..but its working.. i just dont kmow if it works well coz i dont have any tool to diagnose the knocking of this knock sensor i just bought
