For those of you who have tubed your front frames, how di you transfer measurements from the core support to metal work to hang the headlights and rest of the parts on the core support?

I'm thinking that if I were to do it, I would just grab the tubing and hold it up and mark it off, etc etc.

Most places build in situ so they work around the parts thry got and oem bumpers, those that dont will build a jig of some kind so its always the same but then depends if the car is the same from any accidents etc

To do a front end like most do you have to work the tubes in the space of the oem bumper and space and work for that, then you can mock up lights and brackety to suit, its time consuming to do it right, also remember when you weld things may move a little to consider brackets or holes that give a little adjustment to allow for this

If I were to do mine ... strip let's say the front end down. Fenders, bumpers, head lights and so on. May be some L channel cut into 2 inch strips. Drill a hole in the L channel. Bolt each L channel into the existing ,fender, headlight and so in, onto the mounting area. Then using square or round tube, weld a bar to the L channel that is bolted down. Un bolt the l channel , and that gives you a jig ... hopefully that helps. But before you do take comparison measurements , length and x measurements to make sure you dont have existing damage and your chassi is true.
