So like the title says, I went out and bought the best in-tank fuel pump available for street/drag applications. So far, I am very pleased with the amount of power I can fee from just the fuel pump and 3/8" lines. The only downside is that the fuel pump does not come with an internal check valve, so I had to order a few check valves for the fuel line to the rail, and the return fuel line. That way, fuel can only feed in one direction, keeping the gas a lot cooler. New injectors are next; I'm thinking 1250cc/min

Hottest —>IN TANK<— fuel pump available right now is the Walbro F90000295. Deatschwerks flow numbers are at 13.5 volts, the Walbro is doing those flow numbers @ 12 volts.

DW400 is similar to 525, maybe a LITTLE better.
DW400 is available with a check valve.
Only need one check valve. —> Very short distance after fuel pump, before injectors. Useless to have one after regulator.

Out of curiosity, you able to take a measurement from bottom of sock to top of nipple?

I would stay away from DW pumps... I had two fail on me. One in my WRX and another in my S2000. I have never had a wally fail... Just giving you the heads up. When it went in my s2000 it left me stranded - ill never buy them again. Both cars now have walboro pumps in them and run so much better.

I honestly have no problems with this pump been running it for about 2 month now no problems

DW400 absolutely does not have an internal check valve they tell you in the instructions and the pump comes without a internal check valve

all pumps have 3yr warranty too so if it failed you should have had it replaced

DW400 I have it set at 15.8amp @ 30psi and it hits 440lph if i turn up on voltage and and raise the psi I get less LPH output (440LPH @ 15.8amps @ 30psi) (415LPH @ 16.5amps @ 40psi) just goes down from there

the check valves just ensure one way distribution throughout the all the line to each there own

and height from bottom of sock to top of nipple is 140mm with sock on

here is all the specs for this pump read the sheet

just a little spec for the Walbro F90000295

DW400 is better rated for 1000+hp on gasoline on naturally aspirated engines

not to mention inlet/outlet diameter is only 11mm when DW400 is 14mm it may have more flow rate but from what I see DW400 is better then walbro spec wise and I honestly dont think you need anymore then 500lph flow anyways seems super high to me for gas flow but with more flow comes more power

Fuel:
GAS & E85
Horsepower: 900+ at 60PSI, naturally aspirated applications
Over All Pump Length: 131mm
Main Housing Diameter: 39mm
Lower Housing Diameter: 50mm
Fuel Inlet Diameter: 11mm OD
Fuel Outlet Diameter: 11mm OD
Flow Rate: 535LPH at 40psi
Test Voltage: 13.5 Volts

this does not have an internal check valve

I said AVAILABLE w/ check valve. Didn’t say yours came with one. LOL.
Check valve after regulator is useless, change my mind. (You’re right. To each their own.)
F90000295 on paper IS superior to DW400

DW400 still seems like badass pump.

Yours may not, but it looks like they may have added a check valve to the DW400 a couple of months ago. You might be able to get them to install one in your unit:

I will look into that I bought mine before MAY 5 2019 originally these were designed without check valves for racing but apparently they go a lot of feedback to add one for normal use in cars that are DD I already have a check valve right after pump so no need to have them install. without check valve is ideal to build oil pressure before starting in racing applications it might be better i installed the check valve so I can change out/take off for before racing

The DW400 is badass so far I haven't used walbro so I cant rag on them and when I bought mine well before May 5 2019 change out they weren't available with check valves so that is something new they added this year

So I just bought a slightly used DW400. Waiting on ot to arrive. I was going to get a Wally 255 but everything is sold out with. One coming in soon.

I dont believe I'll be getting an installation sheet. Is this similar to installing a walbro?
If anyone could chim in with any advice. Please dont tell me to switch. I'm committed to this at the moment so I will be doing what ever is needed to get it to run properly and safely on my 2G FWD.

Reson I bought is I was running out of fuel on the dyno and I want to get retuned asap.

*search only brought up this convo..

The DW pump will wire up the same. I think the DW pumps are good units as i have their intake pump and been using it for a few years now and i got 2 external pumps to replace the intank pump. So yeah. Keep the DW pumps as they are good units for the cost
