I am currently searching for a fuel pump/gauge assembly for my 91 talon tsi was. I need the whole assembly can someone point me in the right direction? I have searched all salvage yards within a 200mi radius. I have found one used and the price on it is $250 which is insane. Please help!!!!! I attached a pic with the problem.

MJcanada has asked the million dollar question. If its awd, buckle up. You might get a new one from Japan for around $650 plus shipping, though I haven’t gotten desperate enough to inquire if they actually have any to sell. I tried several dealer websites in the US, and none of them could actually get them. If your hanger and wiring are usable, then the pump can be changed. A new one from Denso (the OEM maker) runs around $120. Knock-offs are cheaper, and should work fine. Many folks by higher output pumps, which makes sense if you motor is making at least 10-15% more hp than stock. The level sender is impossible to replace, if it is not functioning. You will have to buy a universal, which I am currently adapting for mine.

Could have that unit blasted and then do a bulkhead fitting, or have a new elbow welded or braised on.

Fully agree with this. If you want to save some money just clean it and weld on an elbow. That stock 12mm bung to the hard-line is a bi***, and I personally replaced mine with a nicer fitting so I wouldn't have the stripping issues.

However: see if there is a Pick n' Pull or something in your area. That would be my first thought.

I see now. For some reason I missed the photo until further comments came in. That is a rusty one. Either find a better used starting point, or be prepared for a bit more customizing. Cleaning that rust and replacing the outlet pipe could take some time and effort. Of course when done right, nice feeling of satisfaction. $250 could start to look like a deal the longer the car sits out of commission.

Hey! Just saw a decent AWD 1g hanger on ebay at $50. Sender is on it (perhaps even works!, who knows?) Anyway, the discharge tube is not rusted in half. search "1990-1994 mitsubishi eclipse gsx awd fuel sending unit factory part" and it should come right up. I almost thought to get it myself, but I'm pretty sure mine is serviceable.
Good luck.
