hello everyone, i have a 1995 eagle talon tsi with the original cas and everything under neath the cam gear but have found out from another member on the group that on my car there is also a black top jdm 1g cas on the left side of the valve cover, this 1g cas is not plugged into anything but the connectors on it look like they would plug right into the original plugs under the cam gears, why would the guy have went back to stock?and what could happen if i were to plug the 1g cas into the original setups plugs?

Do you have ecmlink to reverse the injector firing? if not, you may need to manipulate a few wires at the ecm connector. There may be more you need to do, so you have some research to do. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect an issue.

To properly setup the black top you will need a timing light with advance, and you will need to ensure that the timing set connector is grounded physically in the engine bay or click the box in ecmlink.

Because they are index-able and you dont know where it is set in relation to crank/cam revolution, I wouldnt try it until you are ready to confirm it is indexed properly by checking timing with a timing light.
If you have what you need, I think you could safely switch over.

Is there a specific reason you want to switch?

First problem is I do not have ecm link I'm just curious as to why it would be here? I have no real reason to change over other then the last owner installed it on the car

It likely was installed on a replacement engine at some point, or he wanted to run that one and never had the means to do so correctly? If you cant ask him, all you can possibly get is guesses. I wouldnt stress it too much. It is unlikely to hurt anything the way it is.

is your car 6 bolt swapped? If you don't know how to tell, see below thread, post #9.

If it is a 6 bolt that may lend weight to my theory about being on a replacement engine at some point, but its still just a guess.
