Recently took my intake pipe off to check on how my turbo was doing after installing it about 1000 KM ago to find lots of oil pooled up in the turbo’s inlet, as well as lots of oil in my intake piping. Could it be a bad seal in the turbo or something else?

More likely it from the crankcase vent tube from the valve cover.

Your valve cover feed into the inlet like stock?

This is why many run PCV check valves & catch cans.

You don't want a check valve between the valve cover and the intake pipe, you only want one between the valve cover and intake manifold so you don't boost your crank case. You want the valve cover "vent" tube to be able to let crank case pressure out during boost but also fresh air in to the crank case when your PCV valve is drawing air during vacuum(idle/cruise) situations.

What kind of catch can do you run? Is it an empty can or an actual oil separator?

Check the turbo for shaft play, I had the same problem and when I rebuilt it had bad seals. Also check for oil on the exhaust side of the turbo by where the bolts hold the housing. Look for any oil stains or burnt oil in that area.
