Alright, let's obv start with the car and initial problem.
92 plymouth laser, bought from a buddy of mine, sat for years until I bought it, just wanted something to do.
Here we go, car cranks over but won't run. I know my immediate response was to check fuel, spark, air and all fuses. All the fuses checked out fine, and they were all there.
Since I don't have a fuel pressure tester I just threw some starting fluid into the intake and sure enough it ran for 10 sec or so, signifying no fuel. Pulled fuel line coming from fuel filter, placed cup underneath line, no fuel in the line, but there was fuel coming out of the fuel rail? ( why? If bad fuel pump? Does fuel just stay in the fuel rail not able to flow backwards?)
So, grabbed a volt meter and checked the fuel pump for voltage. At the sensor and the pump. Got nothing. Pulled pump, and it tested bad so bought a brand spanking new one. Still... No... Start. And no power. Sooooo did some research on the mpi, ecu, and CAS issues. I am absolutely not the best with a volt meter but the mpi seemed to have power at certain pins. Ive read that I should be seeing power to the mpi and from the mpi. Regardless, I did get power to it and it does click.
So, Checked ecu, everything seemed fine, but the check engine light didn't go away when key was in the on position so, bought a refurbished one from a reputable dsm guy on fb for a decent price anyway. Still nothing.
The last thing I found on the forums was someone talking about a bad CAS not allowing the fuel pump to prime when cranking, but I kid you not, there wasn't much talk about it, like . Does anyone think this could be my issue? Please, and thank you, my awesome ass motherfucking dsm friends.
