This question has been posted that I read but many people wrote random stuff. Ok so the weep hole is leaking. I took off the spark plug cover shown in picture and it had oil there. . There was no oil in the actual plug holes and no where else is it leaking, ONLY out of the weep hole. Is there a fix? I recently swapped the valve cover gasket. If for any reason it makes a difference it's a 1994 Evo 2, figured it wouldn't but I hate assuming.

Did you use oem gasket? If the cover isn’t cracked, it’s leaking from one of the bolt holes. I had two brand new non oem gaskets leak. The fix was an oem gasket. You can try putting some rtv on the bolt(s) if you don’t feel like buying an oem gasket.

Make sure your oil cap is on tight. My opinion of the 4g63 oil cap is that its a terrible design, it should have had a baffle underneath the opening if they were going to use such a basic tension design with a rubber gasket

Also make sure you used the correct length bolts on the valve cover. I used one that was slightly too long and it would leak into the spark plug hole and out into the spark plug galley

Did you happen to notice the weep hole goes directly to the sparkplug well? So as stated if there is oil in the well the weephole will leak. Find out why the well has oil in it. As above oil cap is a primary suspect.

My oil cap and surrounding it is hella clean. but i will double check i come home at night and since it has been leaking i have not been driving the car. Well that and the knock sensor preventing me from building up boost sucks. Thanks in for the quick response. i hope that life brings you tons of amazing food and cheap gas!!

hey dude,
I will try and tighten the bolts. I will also head to the Mitsubishi dealer here on island to see about pricing the valve cover gasket and maybe new bolts. I will probably try and pick up oem oil cap as well. thank you very much for your time. i will update.

The entire cap doesnt need to be replaced. It has a replaceable gasket. You can do a whole cap but it isnt necessary.
