Does anyone know the proper way to open/separate a 1gb headlight? I need to separate the clear lens from the housing. I’ve read to stick it in the oven. I’ve read a heat gun. Just looking for someone’s experience that did this without ruining the headlight. Also what to use to put it back together? Thanks

I used a regular kitchen oven on the lowest setting. I wanna say it was like 150-200* only took a few minutes and they came right apart. I put em back together the same way.

I dont like the oven meathod.
Heres how I've opened a few 1gb housings.
Grab your girls hair dryer, and a couple flathead screwdrivers.
Start heating where the two halves meet, go around the whole thing till the housing is warm, if not hot. Now you may be able to pry it apart with muscles. Or you may need to pry, stick in a screwdriver, heat the other side again, pry put in screwdriver to keep that section open. Just repeat the process u till you can pull the two parts apart. :thumb:

I just installed LED's and sanded and polished my set from my 92 Talon.
I will be writing an article with pictures some time this week so keep your eyes open. :thumb:
Here is how the lens's turned out.....
