There's no reason you would need longer bolts. I literally installed this plate yesterday with bolts from multiple throttle bodies. Every throttle body has the allen head bolts.

I had to get longer bolts for mine since the stock ones weren't long enough. Just take one of the originals up to Lowe's or Home Depot or even a hardware shop, they should have a nut and bolt sizing chart so you can get the right thread and size. I can' remember the size but I have a feeling they were m6 and I don' remember the thread. Might be m6×1.00 but check the chart to make sure. Then you find the size on the shelf or the rack and get them a little longer. There is one that is shorter than the others though so you can' get all the same size. I can' remember if the one in the center is a different size as well.

That's how I have replaced some of the hardware I needed and if you need help someone should be able to help you. Just show them the old screws and that you need them to be longer. They are usually 5mm differences between the sizes.

IM ONLY KIDDING !! THERE LONG ENOUGH IM ONLY JOKING!! HAHAHAHA. I cant even get 1 thread to bite.

The stock screws dont go into the throttle body that car from the FIAV housing so when you add a plate that is around 1/8 thick that is 1/8 less thread that you have to work with and it just doesnt work out on a stock setup, at least not on the non-turbo motor like mine has. There are many things that people say are "direct bolt-on" upgrades like the S90 throttle body, while it does bolt up onto the intake manifold and the FIAV housing also bolts up to it you cannot use it (again at least not on a non-turbo and have the pictures to prove it) because the TPS and fuel make it so that one or the other cannot be installed, meaning that you have to use another intake manifold or not use the S90.

I had to get new screws for the FIAV housing because maybe 2 threads were sticking out past the plate and wouldnt thread into the throttle body. Saying that you dont need the screws and not actually answering the question makes to ask, why bother posting and not actually answer the question?

Its not hard to tell someone to take a screw to a hardware store, Lowe's, Home Depot, or even an automotive store like Pep-boys, get the screw size and thread checked and just get longer screws.

Most of this thread could of been avoided by just answering the question.

My plate is literally 1/8 of an inch. The exact dimension you mentioned in your post. I did answer the question whether I'm right or wrong. Feel free to spoonfeed this ungrateful dipshit all you want. I've already helped him on multiple threads so he has no reason to get mouthy with me.

Which then brings up the question again... why did you bother? You also stated that you had to use screws from multiple different throttle bodies and that they were allen head bolts which from my knowledge that the stock screws are just regular Phillips Head screws, mine were and not the allen head type which when you get some FIAV bypass plates they come with different bolts which look to be longer than the stock.

Just looking at other threads with the FIAV housing you can see the phillips head screws like here https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/fiav-and-isc-block-off-plate-cold-start-idle-fix.472629/. Those screws are not long enough when you put the plate in between the housing and throttle body. So no you didnt answer him other than say "you dont need longer bolts".

That's because I misspoke. I meant Phillips head. I used the plate on multiple throttle bodies, of multiple generations that had multiple sets of stock bolts. To answer your question, why even reply? The guy clearly doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground so it's entirely possible the bolts are the correct size and he's so incompetent he can't figure it out. For example, one of his posts he just asks where does this gasket go? Front or back? I reply with "back". Not only can the guy not take 5 seconds to do a search, he doesn't even bother to reply back and say thanks for me helping him. So once again, if someone doesn't have the ability to determine where their throttle body gasket goes, then I don't have much confidence in their mechanic ability

So, again... why even reply? And it's clear that the stock screws aren't long enough if multiple people have had to get longer ones. I had to when I put a block off plate on my throttle body.

Plus there is a reason people even ask questions on this site and if people want to give wrong answers or just be dicks then they can go to the Facebook groups.

It's just easier to give a good answer and leave it to the person who asked the question to do with the information what they will.

Soooo. Since this has turned into a pissing contest. can someone please tell me what he did with the hardware THAT COMES WITH THE PLATE. since they sell it as a kit. PER STMs website.

Do you already have this and are attempting to install it.. orrr? Or you looking at ordering it? Any local hardware store would have the correct bolts you need. I believe they're m6x1.5

The bypass plate doesnt include hardware according to the STM website. It states on the website that all that is included is (1)FIAV Bypass Plate. The blockoff plate comes with small allen socket head bolts however.

I checked out lowes today.. they didnt have them long enough. So i went to home depot with the bolt and they have the same type M5 x .8 and the length i need.. i think the length is 35 or 40mm.. so im all good. THANKS and the reason i didnt do that to begin with was on the past i went there trying to find a automotive bolt and they didnt have the right thread so i thought it was a special bolt..

That's where I went when I changed the fairings on my motorcycle. Unless it's some kind of specialty thread size like the IPS thread size you can get it at the hardware store.

I have a bike too. A 05 honda cbr600rr and when i was going threw the draws at home depot i found bolts that look just like fairing bolts too.. probly the ones you got..

Your right i couldnt figure out how to put the bolt into the whole.. ahhh duhhhhhrrr i couldnt push it in.. idk it wouldn't stay in.. should i use some JB WELD and WD-40??

I ordered the plate and gaskets and biss screw a couple weeks ago.. and the other day when i went to install it the stock bolts werent long enough so i panicked and thought it was a special bolt and i was gonna have a problem finding it.. so i came to DSMTUNERS.COM for helpp.. i found longer ones at home depot.. Thanks though.

Yeah, the o-ring type gasket should sit on the throttle body side. I would also probably put some RTV on the bottom side between the plate and the FIAV housing which should be flat on both sides just so it seals good. I have been looking for vacuum leaks on my car and found 4 or so on there. Top of the throttle body vacuum ports were leaking, the vacuum port for the fuel pressure regulator was leaking, the PCV valve was leaking back into the valve cover and back out through the other side port, also had leaks around cylinder 4 fuel injector.

Its best to try to take care of any potential leaks when putting it back together. If you are going to put anything on the o-ring type gasket use dielectric grease since I have seen everyone use that stuff on all of their or-ring type gaskets from the fuel rail to throttle body seals when doubling up o-rings and holding 30psi of boost in. If the o-ring gasket looks worn though then get a new one.

I was wondering how is that gonna seal with no gasket on the hose side.. i tightened the center bolt first then criss cross tighten the rest. So its on there.. and in currently waiting on a leak tester.. also all my vacuum ports are capped off.
