New here. Long time 2G Eagle Talon TSI AWD DSM owner (since 1996).

I have a few service issues which please anyone respond if you have any info to offer.

1. ABS light always on. I have replaced the ABS computer, the main ECU and the whole brake pump actuator... still nothing makes the light go off.

2. AC compressor is loud when the AC is on. The AC blows cold and seems to be just fine. I have to top it up with AC/PRO every spring. Compressor on the way out? Anything I can add to quiet it down?

3. When I engine brake, there is a nasty grind/rattle which I assume are CV joints on the AWD drive shaft.

Also a thank you to all that answered other questions that I had: I didn't know it until I found this website but I had a bad fuel pressure solenoid (check engine code P1105) and my manual clutch fluid is dot 4 brake fluid! All fixed.

Thank you.

J

As far as the abs light if u hook up a scanner capable of reading abs u may have a code for a wheel sensor or something as far as the a.c is the noise coming from the clutch on the front of the ac compressor when turned on it is front part of the pulley on the a.c compressor it engages when u turn on the AC probably cheaper to just replace the ac compressor if u cannot rebuild the clutch not sure on the braking issue would need more info

Thanks for the help so far. I shall try your suggestions on ABS especially around flashing error codes since I have not done that yet.

AC compressor to be reviewed this weekend too.

I also was wondering how many universal joints are in the awd drive shafts? Mine all appear to be shot.

Part number is MB154554 correct? How many should I order?

They dont use a ujoint in the middle. The supported joints are a lobro joint. Transfer case output is a joint. Cant remember at the diff but I think it's a joint also.
