i am kind of at a loss, i changed my waterpump, timing belt, auto tensioner, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, balance shaft tensioner pulley and the balance shaft belt, and when i start it up it sounds ok, but if i rev it to 2K rpm and let off, once it hits 1250 or so, it makes a fluttering whine noise, i think it is waterpump related, because when i listen when i accelerate, the whine is in time with engine speed, i thought maybe when i took off my lower crank sensor to get the balance shaft belt on ( i dont even know if it was necessary) and put it back on, i didnt gap it so it was rubbing, but i dont think that is the problem now that i tore it apart and looked, because it would be hard to gap it if the backplate goes in between the 2 magnets, so i think it is my waterpump, because i spun it with my hand and it makes somewhat of a whine
is there a period where the waterpump bearings have to break themselves in? i really dont know, my old waterpump spun freely, no noise... i did buy a napa waterpump, brand new, says it is multiple stage tested and will supply many miles of use.. but that doesnt mean shit... i have it about to the point where i started at with installing my timing belt, so if anyone has any ideas, i will be glad to look into them, i have put on about 100 miles and it still makes noise.
