This piece right here is the cause of my window rattle, what is it missing? I believe there is supposed to be a piece of plastic maybe Teflon that sandwiches to guide the window up and down, is this correct? If so I am missing that piece completely how can I fix the rattle? I’ve thought about clamping the metal so it’s tighter but then it would just be metal on metal sliding up and down

I believe there is fabric/felt type stuff that is adhered to those pieces usually. If someone ever took it apart before you got to it, they may have lost it or unknowingly removed it, or it fell off/deteriorated on its own.

Yeah I’m definitely thinking someone removed whatever is supposed to be there. I thought I had seen a picture before of a white plastic piece that’s supposed to be there but like I said I have no idea. I’m hoping someone here can offer a good solution so I don’t have to hear the metal smacking whenever I shut my door.

On a side note WD-40 is the FIX for door handles that won’t work. (When you open The outside handle and the door doesn’t open)

I would like to know also.... Even though I just bought my 2g, I'm getting tired of the rattle.

It's interesting though, the subtle differences between the 1g's and 2g's having owned both. This is one of those annoying 2g problems that I never had with my 1g.

I’ve never even been inside a 1g but I have to say I hate how crappy the interiors of 2g’s usually are. I’m not sure if poor design/materials or shitty owners but I can’t wait to get everything dialed in.

My interior is pretty stock, but I must say it's def better than my 1g quality wise. Even the difference between the 1991 vs my 1995 is apparent. Road noise, etc. But I agree, upgrading the interior of both cars was always on my mind. I just need to think through and also figure out what needs to be changed to make it nicer. At that point, I think it's going to get pricey to get it where i would like it to be though (not talking about just painting plastic LOL).

My interior is pristine. Seems to be quality stuff too. The headliner is the only part that's been replaced.

It's a shame I have to tear it down, but when I do I'm saving ALL of the pieces.

Just worked on mine yesterday actually. There is a piece of nylon missing like you stated. I had to close the gap on mine to remove the rattle and it did the trick, but you will need to find a replacement first.
