Morning guys,

I just had my talon repainted. 97 auto with speed density and forced four shift box. No engine work of any sort. Hasn't been driven for around 5 months. Finally had some time to pick it up from the shop (my uncle owns a shop), and now the thing dies when I put it in gear. Idles fine and revs good in neutral or park. Car made a 400 mile trip before it was painted. All connectors are tight and fluids good. One thing I did notice is my fuel pressure being at 30psi at idle. Nothing was moved other than a new battery. Thoughts?

Does it try to increase/decrease the rpm once the load hits from the trans being in gear, or just die as soon as it goes in?

What if you go to neutral/R/2/1 instead of drive?

This is just speculation, but it kinda sounds like fluid stall from blockage. Could also be a vacuum leak, but I'd expect other symptoms generally.

What's the fuel pressure do when putting it in gear?

Goes into gear fine but when you hit the accelerator to move it dies. Then has a hard time starting back up.

I'll check the fuel pressure when I try to move it.

I'm also thinking a vaccum leak but being on speed density shouldn't it still be driveable?

Wanted to mark this resolved. When I picked the car up it was idling fine. Revved ok at first but got worse. Not drivable as it died. Sounded like it was missing. I cleaned the cam sensor, checked the spark and it was weak on 2 and 3. Still had spark on all coils but these in particular were weak. Replaced the coil and she is running smooth.
