does this look a lot like a 4g63? there is a 3 and 4 cylinder version and the trans mounts all look identical to a 4g63. even the head beyond the weird SOHC gear with gear driven DOHC cams looks close.



i ask because there is a UTV roller near me that needs a motor, and i started looking into this chery motor and now i am wondering if i could drop in my old 6-bolt and have a turbo 4g63 400hp 2 seat 1600lbs UTV?

I would say no.

Similar maybe, sure. But that could be said for 90% of ICE's out there.

Could always make an adapter plate if you really want to mate it up to a utv, I wouldn't though cuz that trans/axle whateveritis is gonna isht the bed once you hammer it prolly.

well yes most ICE engines are similar, the chery looks like a re-engineered 4g63. here is a side shot of the block and one of the motor mounts.


unfortunately i missed the sale, so the world may never know. still if you guys come across a Joyner or Oreion UTV or sport UTV for sale, go check it out and get some block pics, i even looked up a replacement clutch and the outer bolt pattern and dimensions are identical.

It's definitely similar. It would be interesting to then side-by-side for some comparison.

Could be based on it, but the website says 66.5mm stroke and 72mm bore, both significantly smaller.

Also, the deck in your above pic is semi-open, like a 420a and not a 4g63. Doubt it could be made to work with one of our dohc heads.
