I’ve been doing a lot of research. So I believe if I have this right, the stock turbo is an internal actuator setup. So that being said how would I be able to run more boost, because from what I’ve read you can only reach around 12 psi. I have a HKS SQV 4 BOV, and a turbo smart manual boost controller sitting around and I don’t know if that would increase the amount of boost the stock turbo can run since it is an internal actuator setup. I know there are ways to weld the internal gate passage shut, and delete the actuator setup entirely so I can run an external waste gate but is there a way around this? Any feedback is helpful, my main goal is to be running more boost.

Your boost controller will "fool" the wastegate by bleeding off a little bit of boost pressure that is going to it, thus will increase your boost. Most can get 12-15 on a stock setup but you will start to need more fuel if you do too much so take it easy and sneek up on the boost a little bit at a time, if you decide to give it a try.
The car looks very clean!
Welcome to the forum, we all try to help each other out and I am sure you will get some more feedback. :thumb:

damn that looks clean! i say dont mess with it, but if you do then please do it right! the HKS BOV will need to be recirculated to function correctly so make sure you buy the inner sleeve to allow this to slip onto the hose back into the intake system.

the stock turbo is always limited no matter what you give it, so if you want power then look into a 14B or 16G but again so it right and you will be rewarded with a reliable car that works well and for a long time

Yes either will work and if both are the same size just get the cheapest, i have the HKS and i just machined my own unit as its is free for me. Also dont forget maintenance! Its key to keeping it from breaking on you

The Evo 9 BOV is a solid unit too it's aluminum instead of that crappy plastic BOV that came stock and it's a direct replacement. Also might I recommend getting DSM link and a 3" exhaust to free up some power. Your boost controller is great too, will be more accurate than stock.

The stock turbo is small and kinda weak, but man do those instant boost 0-35 pulls feel good- anything past that and you will get smoked by a modern Civic or Camry. Leave it stock and enjoy the car or swap turbos and enjoy the car just depends on what your goals are I suppose

Here's a couple of DSM secrets, an you should/have to do more research on these but I'll briefly explain them for you in one simple post.

1. Your engine bay looks stock, throw the boost controller in the trash, If your still running the stock boost control solenoid, you can do the "restrictor mod" remove the little restriction in the solenoid to make you DSM's boost spike up to 15ish PSI.
2. Upgrade your BOV with the 1g metal crushed BOV, Recirculate it.
3. Delete you cruise control cable, actuator, and module box, - a single cable setup if far superior to the 2 cable pully system and you will instantly feel better throttle response.
4. Cut the BOV dump tube from the intake path inside the stock snorkel. (edit I see your running that Injen one so you already got this one done)
5. Rewire the fuel pump with 10 gauge wire, one of our vendors sells a great kit, this will ensure your computer can compensate fuel boost spike from tampering with the boost solenoid or MBC, and is added safety for leaning out and blowing your pristine stock looking motor up.

There you go you 5 DSM secrets in 1 post,.. now go out and rip around in your fun to drive/ reliable DSM. Please don't put a MBC on it and turn up the boost like most jabroni's out there.

on and for the DSM gods sake, put the stock plastic box/ air filter back on the intake. that Hot air intake your running is not helping your "gainz" bro
