If I remove the inspection cover, is it possible to lube the input shaft where the TOB slides? I’d like to replace the TOB soon but don’t feel like dropping the trans now since I filled it with redline not that long ago.

Thanks
Tony

No. I dont believe so. You might be able to get to it from the clutch fork hole. Why are you needing to do this?

Thanks, Paul! I looked through the fork hole already and that’s a no go. It squeak a little when I press the clutch. Pretty sure it’s dry.

Did you remove the rubber vent cover? You need to remove it.

Yup the middle vent. Great access but can only get to the backside towards the trans and also towards the firewall. Fork gets in the way also. I used a toothbrush with some high temp lube and probably got to 25% of the circumference while I had my assistant pump the pedal. So I used very small amount of wd40 right on top so it drips down both sides. Noise is slightly better but it feels much smoother. It was pretty dry from what I can see. Thanks Boys!!

Its risky, but spray lithium?
It has a nozzle on it at least that is small but no one wants oil on the clutch. Just something I was putting out there.

Thanks, Marty! I emptied the entire can. Lol. Shoot. I have lithium wd40 also. Everything is buttoned up. Going to change the bearing when it’s time to change the fluid.

I hope it helps! Try to figure out if it was just dry or too sloppy or whatever made it start giving you trouble.

Think it was just dry. Clutch always worked fine but seemed a little hard since I got it. And I thought it was just from the act clutch since I haven’t driven a performance clutch in about 20 years. It’s much smoother now but still squeaks. I plan on changing the TOB soon. Just don’t want to waste the fresh redline. Probably put about 2k on it.

Good deal Tony. Didn't want to say "Oil the clutch". ROFL
