I'm just looking for clarification to my issue. I've searched, things are similar, but of course, nothing can ever be the same. So here's the issue. Monday morning on my way to work, my radio started acting weird and shutting itself off. Didn't notice any potential causes, other than it started after driving for a minute or two. After messing with it for a few minutes, I just shut off the main power. Yesterday, I had a morning appointment to get to so no work. Went to start the car, and nothing. Battery was dead. I grabbed my spare fully charged battery, put it in, put the original on the charger and went about my day. Since the battery cables had been removed, the radio was now back on and doing the same crap, so again, I turned it off. Today, same damn thing..... the fully charged spare was now dead over night. Again, I swapped the batteries and now I'm at work. Since putting the new turbo in my car, my temp gauge frequently shows the engine is overheating, yet after the first time I saw this, I plugged in my scanner for the live data and my ECT read normal temps. The gauge was pegged high, but still the scanner said 203* and there was no actual signs of overheating. This has continued since. With all of these seemingly unrelated problems, I'm guessing my alternator, or at least the voltage regulator has crapped out. I grabbed my DVOM after getting to work to check the voltage, and while connected to the battery, I'm running 16.7 volts. If I move the positive lead to the alternator, it reads 17.2 volts. There's not much change in the readings while connected, it stays fairly steady, so no voltage spikes that I can tell, just a higher than normal voltage output. I grabbed my wife's jumper cables before I left home too, just because I'm guessing the battery will yet again be dead when I leave work tonight.

Anything over 14.5v is a cause for concern. You have a bad voltage regulator. At those voltages you're overcharging the battery and boiling out the electrolyte.

I would swap it out. ASAP. While the ecu can handle high voltages for a for short durations long term driving will blow the ecu. There's a reason drag cars on 16v systems use a step down voltage regulator.

You'll also want to look at the charging cables for corrosion since you have some voltage drop between the alternator and battery. At minimum, clean the terminals. Battery/alternator fuse/alternator post.

Thank you for confirming my thoughts. I already ordered a new alternator that "should" be delivered here to work today. If so, I'll replace it tonight. I will also be doing the cables and terminals this weekend when I have more time to allow for it. They've been needing replacement for a while.
