I’m new to the dsm world

Hello everyone my name is Tom, I’m 18 years old. I’ve owned my eagle talon tsi awd since January of 2018. I’ve used this site for a while, but decided to make an account recently. I bought the eagle as a project car, I saved up and started the project in October. First was the transmission which I had done by TRE, then I moved to the engine. This was the first engine that I’ve ever built. I was a bit nervous but took my time and made sure to double and sometime triple check all my work. The goal with this build was to make a reliable and fast car. So far I have enjoyed working on the car and it has been a great learning experience. I’m excited for the future and what’s to come and if you have any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Tom. I started my first "project" car when I was 16, 2 Camaros. One good in the back, one good in the front and no drivetrain. I have been where you are so stay meticulous like you are and you will be able to say "I BUILD CARS, I don't buy them!"
That was 40 years ago or more and I am still doing it.
Very glad you joined up and don't be afraid to ask if you have specific questions. Someone has been there and done it 99.9% of the time.

Welcome Tom. I'm also new here. I'm glad you start this passion for car building while still very young. I did not have that chance. Good luck on your build. Mine is going to finish in a few more months. Cheers.
