I keep getting the e8 code on the gauge. I replaced the wideband and even bought the heatsink. I'm thinking my egt is too high and I keep toasting these sensors. I'm new to tuning and I think I might be getting too rich. Any things I can check to verify this weeks help greatly.

Are you running the sensor in the first or 2nd O2 spot? Watch your fuel trims in ECMlink and see if they are pulling a lot of fuel ( Rich ). Are you logging the wideband in ECMlink also? That would tell you if you are running on the rich side.

The wideband is in the front 02 and it's reading 14.7 to 15 at idle and about 10.9 at work. I've done some calibration so it matches pretty closely with what the ECU is calculating. I'm thinking that it might be going too rich and burning in my exhaust which is toasting my wideband constantly

If you search around you will find that the new Innovates with the new 4.9 sensors have nothing but problems. I installed one in an EVO X before and it was burning up the sensors every month or even less. Others have seen maybe 2 months out of a sensor with little miles. I don't know exactly what is causing it but I believe it to be the heater function not working properly with the 4.9 sensor. Innovates customer service is garbage so good luck with that. I have my AEM X series and have not had a single issue with it yet for over a year.

I think you can use the 4.2 sensor also. My innovate sensors have been good to me, but maybe I am just lucky.

I'm gonna have to find out later. I was doing some data logs and my hood flew up and smashed my windshield.... So that's cool.

Awww DAM......OMG

Wish I still had my sons wrecked Spyder, I think it still had a good glass in it. Hope you can get her road worthy soon!

I'm hoping some time in the next week or so. In the meantime it's bus rides for me. It also ruined my vis racing hood. Which I can't afford to replace :/

Boy that's no lie. I like the style of those hoods. You sure it can't be fixed?
Looking at the picture, maybe fiberglass patch to get the hood back together?

Man I know. A dam windstorm did that to my 90 Laser that just needed a HG. Fkd up the "wings" on the edge of the hood and mashed the glass and I wasn't even home. It just happened a couple months ago and I am just south of you by maybe 100 miles or so.

Damn that sucks. At least you weren't driving when it happened. I got lucky and didn't hurt myself or anyone else.

The car is up and running again! Got a new hood and see aerocatch pins for it!

I switched to a innovate this year and so far have not been impressed. In 300 miles it killed a 4.9 sensor already. This is with it installed in correct location with a heat sync bung, if it kills another one I will be switching back to a AEM.
