There are no 272 or 280 cams for our cars. Meth/water will gain virtually nothing due to the tuning set-up of our ECU's.

You might want to search out a bit about our cars. They are different than the 4g63 family.

BC doesn't make cams for the 420A... the closest application is the SRT-4, and those cams are obviously not interchangeable with the 420A.

Also, there is no "getting your computer tuned." There simply isn't a way to do it... S-AFC II's are practically useless, and there are no programmers or the like for the FCC or SBEC-III ECU. Your only option for tuning is using an array of piggybacks to fool the stock ECU or install a stand-alone controller.

Even so, there really isn't a point to water/meth injection unless your engine has a very high compression ratio or you're running very high boost pressure.

Ok i gotcha on the stand alone but i still thought i could send the ecu out and hav it flashed, there used to be an add in j.c.whitney book advertising sending the ecu down and a return time of 1 day,but it mite have been for the 4g63..Also i am not sure the brian crower are for the 420a ,however obx does make a 242 set of cams ,do you have any imput on that thx man,,,## friend viper

Nope... nothing like that available for the 420A.

I wouldn't use OBX cams. Crane and Crower were pretty much the only two reputable camshaft manufacturers for the 420A and Crane just went out of business... so that pretty much leaves you with Crower cams.

I just found www.obxracing.com they have cams for 420a in 3 stages, now ive heard a lot of stuff about obx ,i get the feeling no one likes them ,of course i would rather hav bc cams ,so i hope i can find out more, but what do you think about a cam upgrtade in general,,,,viper

Just so you know BC and Crower arent exactly the same. You will be needing Crower cams. BC doesnt sell them for the 420a although Im sure he could point you in the right direction over to Crower.

Thx guys ,i was also thinking custom grinds, but let me ask you locke what about obx,how come i dont hear anything about them, and whats your opinion about obx,thx viper

OBX makes copies of other companies' products. Some copies are better than others, most require some bit of work to work well. They are known for not doing any research or test fitting before releasing a product. Two of their products come quickly to mind as examples:

Their Quaife knock-off LSD requires some machine work if you ever want to remove the axles after installing them, and often come with nice shiny new pre-cracked belleville springs that need to be replaced.

Their Venom IM knock-off doesn't have provisions for MAP sensor, and thus requires modification for use by most people.

Concerning their camshafts, I wouldn't personally trust them for such an important internal component as a camshaft. Imagine the head damage a broken camshaft could potentially cause, assuming it even fits. Of course, this is my opinion based on their reputation. To my knowledge, nobody has even tried to use their camshafts, so we have no real input on this product. They may end up to be good, functional alternatives to the more pricey brands, but I'm not going to be the one to wager my engine on it to find out.
