Ok, I have done some searching and have found out that I am not the only one experiencing this issue. I have ordered this part 2 times now, and the wrong part keeps coming in. I am looking for the rear motor mount "roll stopper" for a 1990 manual awd. Has anybody had any luck finding a good source for these? I'm tired of paying shipping on the wrong stuff...

I went to Oriellys, and they didn't even have them... and yeah, i'm trying to avoid the torque solutions option!

All the 1g manual awd rear mounts are supposed to be the same between 90-94. Bracket is the one different between 90 and 91-94. If you have a fitment issue, I guess you have a wrong rear bracket or you received a auto rear mount. Make sure if your rear bracket has a number "195" stamped. Or/And possibly you also have a wrong front bracket.

It's not the bracket, it is definitely the mount. they are not the same bracket. Both of the new ones I received are the same bracket, and they are taller. They are both from Anchor.

It sounds like they are giving you the fwd one. I have a fwd and the one I have is quite tall if I remember correctly. I remember having a hell of a time trying to find the head studs that were in my engine and they ended up being listed under the 95 turbo at the parts store. Then the fiav wasn't listed for my car at all and had to look under the 3000gt vr4 I think it was.

When I looked at the autozone one and checked the parts numbers for the n/t 4g63 manual it was the same as the 90 turbo awd automatic. The part number was like 8504 and the one for the 90 awd turbo manual was 8505.

I don't know if it helps but they do sometimes get things wrong with the part number if they are one number off. It happened when I got the engine rebuild kit for my 7-bolt. I think one of the boxes was supposed to have an a or f on it but it didn't so an entire box was for the 6-bolt so I had to order 3 things I think it was the rear main seal, rear main seal housing gasket and oil pan gasket. Never heard back from the people who sold me the ki

The mount is taller. From the looking around I did, it seems like the same issues other have had.
If it's taller then you received a fwd/auto mount. Some companies mix up the part numbers and selling without realizing.
Why don't you just go with polyurethane inserts for the old mount that you had.

I have never had poly mounts, but I have heard too many stories of them making the car vibrate too much. Also, when these are super cheap, I thought, why not. The old mount is a little cracked, not bad. I guess I just thought it would be an easy fix : )

I'll measure mine in the morning. But it sounds like they are sending out the fwd/auto like DSMPT also said. I would check the part numbers. Check the part number that you ordered the one you got and the one for the auto/fwd on the site. They might of sent the wrong one.

It's weird that oriellys didn't list it though. That's where I got my front and rear motor mounts.

No need to go with polyurethane. I meant replacing only the insert.
This is just one of options, if you are tired of dealing with receiving a wrong part, maybe you can use only the insert from the wrong part you received in case if the insert is press fitted and the dimension is the same. Then just go to some shop who has a press machine and ask them to remove the insert from the wrong mount and install it to the right awd mount that you used to have on the car.

I was surprised too...

I don't know if you can remove the inserts, at least from the cheaper ones. if I can find my old one I'll look at it. Most people that remove them I have heard have to burn them out. They might not of had access to a press though.

I’m a newbie to this topic, but if you’re interested in staying stock anyway, the factory parts catalog lists MB436495 as the correct part. This catalog can be found on the resources section. I would try that number in a search on a few of the Mitsubishi dealer sites. I just looked on Mitsubishi Parts Now and found it for $47. Good luck

This is my stock mount with a poly bushing in it for size reference.
1990 AWD.

Yeah my fwd rear looks maybe 2-3 inches taller than that if I remember correctly. They have got to be sending the wrong part out. If that is the case and it is listed as AWD manual for the tsi and gsx then I would tell them to pay for return shipping since it isnt the right part. Unless the customer is ordering the wrong part there should be no excuse for it.

Oh man I am going to look into this, although my height problem with the motor and transmission mounts is only about 1/4 inch, which I "fix" with 1 shim.
My motor mounts are the Avid set of all 4, steel mounts with 75A rubber in them. I've always just assumed those were made a little off. Maybe that's not it?
Looked in the FSM for a diagram. Here's what I found.
Pretty good drawings of AWD on the left, FWD on the right, front and rear, 2.0 liter engine.
This FSM is the one that was put on CD as a pdf, the "DSM Backup Manual" in the section for 1990 - 1991 T/E/L.
