Hello everyone I’ve recently got the itch to get back into the eclipse game after about an 8 year hiatus. I got fed up with car issues and just wanted something reliable which led me to get out of the scene. I have a lot more bills then I did before and so this will be more of a slow burn instead of having lots of expendable cash and time (have a kid now)
Previously I have owned a 95 gst and my baby was a decked out 98 eclipse gs (420a) with an aftermarket turbonetics t3/t4 set up and tons of other things I’m sure I’ve forgotten over the years. I’ve always wanted a 1g and I’m in the process of acquiring one as I write this. The seller has told me there is a rattle when the throttle is let off and that’s about the only issue I’ve heard about since then. What kind of red flags should I be looking for when I finally get to test drive this. It’s a 92 eclipse with a 1.8 4g67 iirc? I know the power is underwhelming but I figure this will put a leash on me from going crazy and trying to build power and sink too much money into this car. I figure this will afford me the opportunity to work on the car and do little things here and there without too much risk. Also any little upgrades or tips to get me started would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to picking up the car and hopefully getting back into the scene. Thanks for reading this massive run on sentence gents.
