No prior experience in any cars LOL. Bought a nice little 90 Talon, all stock from a friend to try to get into the car scene. LMK what to expect. Literally zero experience

Welcome, and the car looks very clean!

With zero experience, you've stepped into a heavy weight ring of sorts. As long as youre willing to learn and open to lots of advice, you'll be fine.
Be sure to fill out a vehicle profile (when you get a chance to find and list things) so we can see what is done to the car and better assist you, and feel free to ask questions, we will all try to help as best we can!
Just a heads up, Google searching a question with dsm added in will generally give alot of search results from this site, and is an easy way to see if your issue has already been covered.

Once again, welcome and nice car! :thumb:

Welcome to the DSM community!!!

Now what to expect

Pros
1. You will learn about the car.
2. If you have no mechanic experience you will develop some skills.

Cons

1. Headaches
2. Long days
3. Long nights
4. You will be spending a lot of money unless you do it yourself
5. Frustration

But at the end it's all worth it to me so enjoy it.

Welcome!

I’d personally start here https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/dsm-maintenance-guide.476550/ with the maintenance guide. Keeping up with these cars is super important and goes quite a long way. I prefer to be proactive vs. reactive when I comes to maintenance.

Secondly I’d just drive and enjoy the car for a little. Establish some goals for what you’d like to do with the car and plan from there.

This community wouldn’t be what it is if this platform wasn’t such a pain in the ass all while being a fun and enjoyable car to both work on and drive. Enjoy the ride both figuratively and physically .
