My plans for the future have been ruined. I came across a GST F&F clone for only $32,998 (click me to see)
I was gonna buy it then change my name to Brian Earl Spilner and drive across the country, ordering tuna sandwiches everywhere is stopped.

But then all my hope and dreams went down in flames when I came across this picture.

Crank windows? Thats a deal breaker.

Okay now seriously, we all know that its worth what ever someone will pay for it, but $33K is way over priced. If you ask me it worth about a quarter of that.
I mean it looks nice on the outside (at least most of it) and it has a JDM engine but thats about all. The damn NOS is just the bottles, there are no lines or solenoids. And the exhaust is horrible.

Was it even possible to get a 95 GST without power windows? I mean i had a 95 GST with a basic cloth interior, but it at least had power windows and locks. I thought those things were standard equipment on turbo models.

Honestly, If I put that kind of work and time into it, I wouldnt sell it for any less than that, it might not be your cup of tea, but it is someones, I can promise you that right now, alot of guys would love to have that car.

yeah but if you would have built it, i doubt i would have anything to complain about.

Don't you think that car was probably built at some shop with a bunch of guy all working on it. Cause thats a little different than you doing all by yourself. All i'm really getting at is for that price i would expect them to do a good job on the whole car not just the exterior.

Ya, I guess LOL

I’m like 99% that Brian’s car was a RS with a 4g63 swap. So maybe it did have hand crankers.

What kind of weight savings would that actually give you though? A few lbs for wiring, switches, and then the regulator motors... Now I want crank windows. Lighter and less to go wrong...

This is the option code for a 95 GST i used to have. It lists power windows

But the option code for the F&F car doesn't so maybe the car actually came with crank windows.
Although its option code has keyless entry + Theft protection. Meaning it had to have power locks on it originally but it doesn't now.

You would think for $33K they would have put the damn covers on the mirror controls.
im not sure what the correct name for them is.

Why do you have to e-mail them to get mileage??? I would have hid the crazy price tag with e-mail not the mileage......

@dustyboner give me $33K and I will build you one with the OG 420A engine- AND POWER WINDOWS :p

But in all seriousness if I am paying $33K I do not want a replica I want the real thing, Paul Walker's sweaty ass print and all

Craig Leiberman has a video talking to John Lapid who was is the owner and builder of the original eclipse that was just released today.

To me if im going to buy a replica for that much I would want it to be accurate and the rear bumper isnt and it looks like the interior should be black at the very least. And apparently the sounds for the Eclipse in the movie were mixed from a supercharged CRX and a turbo Integra. They have some fun facts going on in there. I think they even showed the parts list for the original car which wasnt that much other than dress up.

I would give it a watch if interested. Its pretty interesting. He has at least 2 videos on the Eclipse, and apparently the Skyline in the 2F2F prelude and first race scene was going to be a Neon SRT-4 but they went with the Skyline that was owned by Craig Lieberman as well as the orange Supra in the first movie.

If I was going to make a replica car though it would probably be the Eclipse from the first NFS Underground opening cinematic.

That was an interesting short video. They literally had a casting call for moded cars

We bought possibly the last two in North America 3 years ago, used. All of these manual mirror moldings break because the mirror cables start to seize, and people force the joystick harder. Apparently there is not enough demand for someone to 3D print these.

I dont know much about 3d printing and modeling but I would guess if they are so rare its hard to get your hands on them to get all the measurements or scan it to be able to make accurate well fitting parts. I would like to get a 3d printer though. With a good one you and with good parts and a scanner you can make a LOT of stuff.
