I accidentally posted this in the tech articles (oops) but after receiving a couple answers i’m left with a couple more questions if anyone has the time to help. In my last post I was asking for help regarding the code p0135 or the o2 heater circuit. I am running my wideband (innovate lc2) in my front o2 and i am simulating narrowband with link v3. Some people told me I could run a few resistors in place of the heater circuit. And that sounds great but if thats the case couldn’t I just plug an o2 sensor into the stock plug and achieve the same effect?

Yes.
In my setup, I have the Innovate, but not link. The Innovate allows you to simulate front O2 without link. Rather than tap into the ECU, I just used the blue sensor wire from the old O2 sensor. I left the old O2 sensor otherwise attached to its harness, wrapped the hot end in header wrap and attached it to a good spot on my frame/crossmember with some heavy insulated wire (only so the bare wire wouldn’t gouge up the cross member.) Now my WB simulates NB and sends the signal to the ECU through the original wire in the harness and the old O2 sensor’s heater is activated and sensed by the ECU through the original wires in the harness. The only downside is that I don’t log my WB currently. But on my setup, I don’t need that yet, and glancing at the gauge is all I wanted.

Don’t go the resistor route. We tried that, and those suckers get hot! Had to make an enclosure to keep them from damaging anything in the interior. We removed them after realizing that the electrical system was dedicating so much current — maybe even a few amps — to something that was wasted as heat. We unplugged the resistors and got the error code. It’s been a while, but our tuner dealt with it. Those on here familiar with Link can probably tell you if there is an option to remove that code.

What those guys said is probably the easiest and best way to go. I was too intimidated to try flashing at that point and that’s why I left it hooked up and tucked the stock O2 sensor away. In case you’re interested, the reason you can’t just use the stock O2 power and ground is the Innovate unit only intermittently sends power (heater) to the WB unit. The ECU would give an error code because in the NB O2 sensor the heater is always on.
