I'd like to monitor the pump pressure and clutch pressures by installing a pressure sensor in the test ports on the exterior of the trans, I didn't see anything about these ports in the service manuals I'm using, anyone know what size they are and what they do? Doesn't look like 1/8BSPT.. From left to right they're labelled:
RD, DR, DA, RC, FC

I'd venture to say the RC and FC stand for Rear Clutch and Forward Clutch packs, but I'm not sure on the other 3. I will see what I can find in my transmission manual.

Thanks for taking the time to post those pics @1990TSIAWDTALON

Now where is the darned "line pressure" tap so I can see what pressure it's pumping?(Kiggly talks about this line pressure) I think it would also be useful to see if it's gulping air on launches.

Those diagrams dont mention the DA tap, I think it stands for "damper apply" but not sure what it means.

I'll try to find it for you. Im right there in my auto after changing the front clutches out for Kiggly 5 paks.

I don't know if this helps. I can't find a line pressure tap tho. There HAS to be one for checking, look at that picture real hard, maybe it will spur a thought! :)

Kiggly talks about the rear clutch seeing the full line pressure in his writeup on pressure recommendations. Maybe that's the only spot?

Just a partial update, the threads are m8x1.25 with o-ring seal... I'm not having any luck finding this adapter to 1/8" npt so I can plug in my pressure sensor.

Have you looked for an 8an ORB fitting? Like my AFPR has on it for a plug on the back but it is a 6an ORB.

AN fittings are SAE/standard sizes not metric.

After many hours/days of creative searching I found it! It's an adapter used in a transmission service machine I believe, listed for the KM transmissions but it works! Doesn't come with o-ring but its made for it, just swap from the plug you're removing. It's $6 select fitting "A"

Thank you! We will be ordering one.
