Just curious where everyone is mounting their fire extinguishers on their 2gs, bonus points if you have a spyder and could give me some ideas. I've always been scared of a fire ruining my hard work and picked one up. Please post and or tell me about your ideas!

When I still had a passenger seat I had some mounting tabs welded to my passenger side seat mount so that I could mount the fire extinguisher in front of it. It was within reach from the driver's seat. I would warn against mounting like this on the driver's side because if the tank gets loose it can roll forward and interfere with your pedals.

I remember a discussion a while back about fire times vs size (carry type) and before you can ever get to it your likely already not going to stop it because it will be too small, if you want one get a good 2ltr hand held as it will do more then them small small units,

Some have done brackets to the seat as John said above, some mount it on the pillar,

If your drivers seat dont move alot and its compact enough you could put it on the rear of the drivers seat. And its still easy to get to

I actually did something similar in my Honda. Bought some 2.5" flat aluminum stock and bent it in my vice. Not perfectly refined, but the mount was mostly hidden behind the extinguisher anyway.
If you go this route, remember to allow room for the seat to be adjusted.

And my new location. I can't find any great pictures of the mount, but it's just a piece of angle iron mounted to some rivnuts under the seat.

New location looks like a winner for me!

Thanks for all the ideas keep them coming!

My list of things to get include a whole car fire suppression system, they are soo expensive though, but if you use it even once it pays for itself that instant.

Its what i have but i need it for racing. Bottle is huge now since FIA got involved in new regs

The Bracketeer.. Cheap, super simple to install, and easily accessible. Easily adjusts to most sizes of extinguishers as well.

It is worth noting however that it DOES interfere with the movement of the seat. It does not allow the seat to come all the way forward. I mounted mine on the passenger side since no one ever uses the back seat and I'm short so I have to have the driver seat relatively far forward.
