Just an FYI, this post will be little long
Alright so I'm battling a CEL with my 2g and it all started about a week ago. Last week I went out for a quick spin and did a 2,3,4 gear pull on the car. All was fine, I then drove the car home and parked it. About 10 minutes later I go out to my car to start it back up, all is fine until I notice the CEL is lit up. I go grab my scanner and it reads P0300, random cylinder misfire. I make a u turn and go park the car again.
First thing I do is go get a new set of br7es, gap them to .024(car likes this gap) and put them in. The code clears up and off I go for another drive. When I get back home I park the car for like an hour. I start it back up and bang another CEL. This time it reads P0302, cylinder misfire in #2. Before I changed anything I went to drive the car. The car behaved liked normal and even went into boost fine until about 15 psi then it started to lean out.
Next thing I did was throw in a spare coil and the code went away again. I drove the car and did a 2, 3 pull and it pulled hard, no issues to redline. Yesterday I went to start the car up to only be greeted by that damn p0300 code again and before I go nuts I just want opinions.
Spark plugs are obviously new
My blue ngk wires might have about 15k miles on them
Coil was swapped out with a spare unit that I had to potentially rule out a bad coil (140k on it)
I replaced my cam angle sensor last year with a new oem unit (maybe 4k miles on
I did a compression test at the end of last season (I've only driven the car about 500
miles since) and it was 175 across the board.
I'm not sure about the crank sensor, I've never changed it. Car starts up, idles fine and drives fine when the CEL is there. Only problem is when I go up after 15 psi and the wastegate opens. If I clear the CEL the car will pull hard in full boost, but will then it seems to come back the next time I start up my car.
