i transfered the complete turbo system from a 1g car upgraded with a 16g turbo onto my talon tsi that had no turbo when i bought it. my 2g car had the oil port for the oil feed line on the head so i used that to feed the 16g turbo and blocked the 2g line from the oil filter housing. i feel like the head isnt feeding enough oil to the turbo compared to what the housing would?

The 13/14/16/20's are fed from the head. If you want to feed it from the oil filter housing, you can, but you need to restrict the oil flow. The head oil port doesn't feed as much oil as the filter housing does. What makes you think it isn't getting sufficient oil supply?
ALSO.....Welcome to the forum, glad to have new members.
We should get some more responses, lets see what others have to say! (Thanks Dusty)

Thank you. I have an oil gauge hooked to the same outlet on the head and it drops to zero oil pressure when idling on the turbo line

So if I would've hooked into the stock 2g oil line it would've been too much for the 16g?

Correct. MHI turbos need to be fed from the head. Almost all other turbos need to be fed from the OFH, (including the GARRETT t25 that originally came on your car).

Are these turbos designed to go low oil pressure when not spooling then? Jw. Do you think I'm ok on the head feed then? When warm while spooling there's approx 15-18 psi going to the turbo

Do you happen to know what the real engine oil pressure is also? Of course, zero is not good, but they don't take a lot of oil at idle. Just wanting to compare engine PSI to turbo PSI oil pressure. If the engine pressure is low and never gets up very high, you can run the compressor off of the OFH, but you probably have other, more serious issues, if the engine pressure is also low.

With a standard pressure gauge Teed into the oil line going to the turbo

Ok good. I don't see that being an issue, but I agree with @1990TSIAWDTALON that you should verify oil pressure at the OFH. There may be an obstruction of the oil line in the head, I've seen some nasty ones.

Sorry about the delay has a busy weekend! The oil pressure don't light has never came on ( so assuming car doesn't deep to zero pounds?) I can move the aftermarket to another part to compare maybe this upcoming weekend
