Hey guys I have a bit of a weird issue here:
my 1g starts up like normal and can be driven no problem, However once It "warms up" I suppose something goes wrong...If I turn the car off or if it is on for too long it will sputter and then die. I can try to restart the car but it will not stay on longer than 3-8 seconds, it then dies regardless of how much gas I give it.
The motor was built way before I had the car but I don't think the senors are new, leading me to believe the CAS is bad, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Side note: After a few minutes of cool-down it will startup and then idle low, If I apply gas I can stabilize it until it runs on its own, I do get a CEL but am having a problem with DSMlink on my laptop ( a new thread its own I guess) so i have not been able to properly diagnose the CEL. After giving it enough time it can drive as if nothing happened but it will do as previously mentionmed and then stall out.

Almost sounds like an overheating/worn fuel pump, or maybe oil fouling the CAS (stretch). As @steve said, get the little stuff fixed so you can actually go about diagnosing things.

hey guys I found it to be a bad CAS per dsm link no issues starting it up, but now the issue is that the timing must be all over the place with it. I can do a small pull once in awhile ( to log for DSM link) but it almost feels like a boost leak occurs and the motor pulls back. I did not use a timing light for the CAS and currently reset it to TDC and put it in all lined up, how do I set it to 5 degrees? is this a programmable thing or do I pull the CAS off reconfigure and reinstall?
sorry for the delay just started two jobs to hopefully get this beast back to showroom quality.

Well you cant really do it without a timing light . For you to be in CAS adjustment mode you have to ground the connector on the firewall, also disable anything using the obd1 connector.(otherwise your ecu thinks your trying to adjust your ISC) The notch on your crank pulley (if it's not separated) should line up with the notch between the T and 10.

Also if you have an adjustable timing light you have to set it to 0 not 5 .

You loosen the two bolts on the cas and one way retards timing and the other way advances timing. (You will see how you just rotate it ) once your at 5° your mint tighten the CAS up.

Did you put it in properly?
If my memory serves me well you put the 1st cylinder to Top Dead Center (the cylinder closest to the timing belt ) and you line the notch on the spinning part to the mark on your CAS

I understand every part you mentioned, the only questions I have is that what connector am I looking for ?, and how would I ground it (is there any video/photos online anywhere). same the question is for the crank pulley where am I looking at it? lastly the adjustable timimng light can it be bought from an autozone/pepboys/ect. and how would I hook it up?
