Are EBC yellow stuff brake pads worth it? Do you feel a major difference over oem?

If these are going to be for your N/T, don't even think about it. And, that's not putting down N/T's, it's being realistic. Your profile says your car is stock. Is it going to be a purpose built racecar?

Yellow stuff pads are what I would call entry-level track pads, nothing you really want to run on the street daily. The compound takes a while to heat up and you might find yourself sliding through your favorite stop sign on a brisk winter morning. Also, being an aggressive pad, the pads will wear into the rotor and chew it up over time. Fairly common for track pads. Word is that these are some of the mildest of the bunch - but that doesn't translate into "OK, should be perfect for my DD, then".

If you really do want some mean brakes, give the redstuffs a whirl. That, or try a different manufacturer.

Yellowstuff pads are meant for racing. Yes, they grab significantly harder than OEM pads (and most/all street pads). However, they will take longer the heat up to use them at their full potential. If this isn't going on a mainly race car, I would look at a different pad.

Somehow, I just can't make a post so neat and tidy as that.

i have them and they have been fine, i sead for dd and canyons they are good (never sead anything about chasing down Torreto in a 10sec car)... dusty is only a problem if you only wash your car once or twice a year.
no insult intended, just personal experience.

Does anyone happen to know which pads to get for the EBC green stuff when selecting the sub models for our cars? I have a 99 GSX and the only options are:
-GS
-GST
-RS
-Spyder GS
-Spyder GST

Thank you

I ran ceramic brake pads on with my n/a motor. And still have em on after my rebuild . They Stop fine and i wounldnt upgrade to any other pad unless it was an autocross car.

If your just looking for a good pad for street driving goto your local parts store and buy some premium ceramic pads, they were roughly 80$ when I bought mine with a 20 $ mail in rebate that I never sent LOL

There quiet and grab awesome . Dont see any reason to spend more cash it actually took the mail in rebate to convince me to buy these even though I never sent it in

If your looking for a better braking system maybe just make a self bleeder for brakes and flush the system and look for leaks in the caliper. Maybe replace your brake lines if there dry rotted

And new rotors or resurface your current ones

Edit: Sorry didnt see this was posted in 2012 and was replying to the OP my bad Haha

I'm fairly certain the GST and GSX have the same calipers so I'm sure the GSTs will work fine someone with a 2g will chime in . Dual piston calipers?

Thank you for the post nonetheless LOL
I'm pretty sure we run stock dual piston calipers. I'd assume it'd be the same as the GST. I just wanna be sure is all. I'm also assuming the front and rear are the same pads? I wanna do EBC green stuff on all four corners

On all the cars ive done brake jobs on usually the rear brakes are smaller pads then the front but again that's 100% for a 1ga and various other vehicles.
dont wanna give you misinformation though LOL

Honestly I think you're correct. Just that I saw on another thread someone else was gonna run them so I just assumed they're all the same size. If anyone else can confirm if we infact have different sizes for front vs rear that would be great. Otherwise, I'd like to do them all four corners

I have the yellow ebc pads on Baer brakes with slotted rotors on my car for 2 years DD none of the above issues seem to be a problem but yes they do stop very well even on cold stops. They have me hesitant about putting on my 4 piston stoptechs the car stops so well.

I honestly like the ebc yellowstuff pads, as of right now those are the only pads I use on my car. If you have a stock car I don't think its worth spending the money TBH. You can get some cheaper pads and they will perform well.
