I'm trying to figure out if my knock sensor is working properly. I've been driving around pushing 20psi and the knock count never goes above 0 degrees. I find it hard to believe that I'm not knocking at all. So here's my question, is there a way to test the knock sensor is connected / working properly? I'm using an NT wiring harness, so I had the run the wires myself, however when I was using the palm logger it picked up knock, so I'm leaning toowards the sensor itself is bad. Willl ECMLink show a value (0) if the wiring is hooked up incorrectly? Is there a voltage output to check for?

I'm not sure if there is voltage to check for, but if you see goo coming out if it on the block side, that is a really good indicator that the knock sensor is bad.

If the ECU isn't seeing any signal from the knock sensor it will throw a Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction CEL (DTC) and lock timing at 3.2*. This is of course assuming that you're using a 1g TURBO ECU, if you're using a 1g N/T ECU then there was no knock sensor circuit built into it. You mentioned wiring it in yourself because the harness you were using, are you sure its a 1g TURBO ECU too?

I’m having that exact code with exact knock at 3.2* logged with ECMLink. Def can’t be my ecu because this is a spare ecu with ECMLink I had in one of my other dsms thats been down for the time being but never gave that code for knock sensor malfunction circuit 1. I’ve replaced knock sensor and it’s still there next going to wire harness.
